About

Description

Aurelian's Client Modpack is a 1.17.1 modpack for the Fabric launcher.

A lightweight performance-driven client-side modpack with shader support and quality-of-life features.

Main Features:

  • Performance mods: Sodium, Hydrogen, Lithium, etc.

These mods optimize Minecraft, resulting in higher FPS.

Better graphical quality is made available to lower-end PCs.

For more information, please visit Sodium's website: https://modrinth.org/mod/sodium.

  • Optifine-esque tools

This modpack DOES NOT include Optifine. But, it does include several mods to recreate key features.

-Zoom

-Dynamic lights

-General rendering optimizations

  • Quality-of-Life additions

These are small mods that make Minecraft slightly more pleasant to play.

-More item tooltip information

-Ghost block removal

-Discord integration

and more!

  • Shaders! (Yes, really!)

This modpack makes use of Iris, a brand new mod that works with Sodium to support shaders in 1.17.1.

Iris uses optimized rendering techniques to decrease the performance impact of shaders.

More information on the official Iris website: https://irisshaders.net/index.html.

NOTE: This modpack does not come with any shader packs pre-installed. YOU MUST INSTALL THEM YOURSELF.

Step 1) Download your shader pack. The list of supported shaders can be found here: https://github.com/IrisShaders/Iris.

Step 2) Launch the game.

Step 3) Navigate into Options --> Video Settings.

Step 4) Select Shader Settings

Step 5) Select Open shader pack folder

Step 6) Drag + drop your shader pack into the folder.

Step 7) Toggle the "enable shaders" button and click "Apply."

If you want to configure the shader pack's settings, you will have to do that in the shader's config file (usually called "shader.settings," or something like that).

Because this is a client-side modpack, you can use it on vanilla multiplayer servers!

None of these mods give you any kind of competitive advantage beyond vanilla players. Therefore, you can safely use this modpack online.

Why is this called Aurelian's Client Modpack?

My Minecraft username is Aurelianvs. This is a collection of mods that only affect the client-end of the game.

Can I modify this modpack to make my own?

Yes, this pack is published under and MIT license. If you do, please make sure that you follow all of the terms set forth by the individual mod authors.

Why did you make this modpack?

I wanted to play the latest version of Minecraft, but with several changes to make the game more comfortable for me. I also noticed the awesome technical work in Sodium and Iris, and wanted to make them more accessible on CurseForge.
