Description

AutoColony Apocalypse

A town that builds itself, in a world that wants it dead.

Found a MineColonies colony and walk away: Colony Autopilot (this pack's own mod) plans every building, hires and feeds every citizen, arms the guards, runs the research tree, repairs the damage and keeps the lamps lit — the whole town plays itself. Which is good, because the world is ending.

Fungal Infection: Spore and its Spore Inquisition expansion wake up slowly. You get about 20 in-game days of grace while the colony races to grow. Then the creep starts crawling, the mounds rise, raids come at night — and one night, the RedNight arrives. From there it's a war: the colony defends itself, and you fight beside it with everything the pack gives you.

What you do while the town runs itself

  • Fight the infection — scrub creep, break sieges, hunt the mounds and tendrils that spread it. The bosses are the point of the pack; killing the spreaders, not the bosses, is how you stop the tide.
  • Gear up — TaCZ guns, Ars Nouveau magic, Artifacts, Mystical Agriculture resource farms, Sophisticated Backpacks.
  • Automate — Create, Mekanism and Applied Energistics 2 for everything the colony's own warehouse doesn't cover.
  • Explore — YUNG's overhauled structures everywhere, When Dungeons Arise megadungeons, L_Ender's Cataclysm bosses, Born in Chaos nights.
  • Build your own base — mark it with the Zone Marker and the autopilot builds the town around your land, never through it.

The tuning that ships in the pack

  • 20 in-game days of grace before any infection (config: to the day).
  • The finale is off by default: corruption caps at 99% — only a deliberate max-corruption offering ends a world. No surprise game-overs.
  • Infection evolution slowed, organoid cap 75, vanilla hostile spawn cap — big fights come from raids, not from a thicker night mob soup.
  • Beneficial potions last 2×. Curated keybinds ship in options.txt.
  • Two shaderpacks come ready to enable (Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs): Complementary Reimagined for everyday play, Rethinking Voxels for showcase nights (heavy). The pack runs fine without shaders.
  • A performance suite (Sodium, Lithium, ModernFix, FerriteCore, EntityCulling) keeps it smooth; 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended.
  • Every Colony Autopilot behavior has a config key — automate everything, or only what you find tedious.

Getting started

  1. Install through the CurseForge app (it handles everything), create a world (hard difficulty is the intended experience) — or join a friend's server running the pack.
  2. You spawn with a starter satchel: place the Town Hall, read the Field Guide book (it explains the whole war — recipes, counters, commands), and let the town do the rest.
  3. One rule: never switch the world to peaceful — it permanently deletes the RedNight mound and breaks the apocalypse for that world. (if you accidently switch to peaceful, you can manually use commands to respawn RedNight, the boss mound that facilitates the world infection added by spore:inquisition mod)

A note from the author

This is a hobby side project — updates come when they come, and there's no promised schedule. The pack's own mod (Colony Autopilot) is open source under GPL-3.0: feel free to build on it, fix it, or port it to other Minecraft versions yourself.

Credits

This pack stands on other people's excellent work — 74 CurseForge projects installed by the launcher (all linked in modlist.html inside the pack), plus, bundled with thanks:

  • Complementary Reimagined shaders by EminGT and the Complementary team (installed from its own CurseForge project; credited here per its license).
  • Rethinking Voxels shaders by gri573 — redistributed inside this modpack per its license; any problems arising from its inclusion here are the pack author's responsibility, not gri573's.
  • Create Armorer TaCZ gunpack by Koei (CC BY 4.0).
  • Create Cobblestone deepslate generators datapack by MrStickyPiston (CC0).
