About

Description

BBEngineering is an engineering-themed modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1, which focuses on industrial and infrastructural development, with an emphasis on large-scale interconnected systems over "single-block solutions."

It features electrical networks and substations, oil refining and processing, factories, railroads, pneumatics, Applied Energistics 2 storage and automation, computer-controlled machinery, and is preparing to enter aircraft, ship-building, and space exploration.

The pack primarily uses Immersive Engineering as its backbone, with a variety of engineering and industrial-themed mods branching from it, with Create and GregTech being deliberately excluded from the pack, so that the feeling of engineering remains not lost in a number of intermediate steps needed to create any single machine in the game.
The pack is geared towards multiplayer, featuring a number of opportunities for players to specialize, trade, and cooperate, for example, by forming companies. While some players can act as miners, others can take on the role of steel-makers, work in refineries, power plants, transport system companies, construction teams, or shops.

In other words, there is no need for a player to do everything themselves if another one is willing to do some work for them, for example, by building a railroad for transporting ores, constructing a power plant, or establishing a refinery, which can then provide fuel for both transportation and industry.
At the same time, the pack offers significant security features for individual bases, structures, and even entire corporate regions, which can be found in the pack's version of the SecurityCraft mod.
The pack's progression is deliberately non-linear and leaves a lot of room for self-expression, while still providing players with a number of interconnected systems and opportunities to develop different kinds of industries and infrastructural projects.

The following areas are available in the pack:
• Electricity;

• Heavy industry;
• Oil;
• Railroads;
• Pneumatics;
• Storage;
• Computers;
• Vehicles;
• Ships and Valkyrien Skies;
• Aircraft;
• Space;
• Pollution;
• Seasons, and survival-related challenges;
• Exploration;
• Multiplayer-related opportunities, companies, trading, claims, and security.
The pack strives to provide a variety of interesting interconnected systems, within which progression would be meaningful and rewarding, while the role of any particular structure or company, as well as the infrastructure in general, would have significance and purpose within the game world.

Overall, it is noteworthy that the pack is currently in a beta stage, as a number of features related to multiplayer, progression, and balance are being worked on.

Third-party mod credit

The pack includes a CC:Tweaked mod as a non-CurseForge dependency, which is a creation of its authors, and provides the pack with programmable computers, which can be used for various purposes in the game.
