Description
Updates are in development and important fixes are coming soon!
Beta, NOW! is a small Minecraft modpack that aims to faithfully re-create the feel of old Minecraft, specifically The transitional phase from beta to release while keeping most of the aspects of beta 1.7.3. Alot of similar mods exist and thats why I want to add my own twists to it and make it unique from all the others, however making it different will take alot of time and effort and as of right now this is only a small passion project.
Questions you might have:
How do I enchant? Where's my exp bar?
-Exp is disabled by deafult and its meant to stay that way. You enchant using anvils which cannot be crafted but can be found naturally in either the woodland mansions or one of my custom structures added specifically for this purpose. The enchanted books can all be obtained, the anvil itself is repaired with iron ingots, just like iron golems.
Why can't I craft shields?
-Just like exp they are disabled and are replaced with the old blocking mechanic that was in the game pre-1.9 (combat update).
What are the quirks of this modpack that that make it different from other modpacks similar to it? -As of right now, other than the few custom structures not much, but there will be more on the way hopefully. Some of my plans for the future include: custom mobs, dungeons, cut features re-introduced in some way.
Why can't I craft stone tools?
-Progression was slightly tweaked with the use of the "Better Copper" mod so that the second tier of tools and armor you obtain is copper instead of stone. Copper ore can be broken with wooden pickaxes but you probably figured that out by now.
Known issues:
-Missing textures, some textures not having a "programmer art" style
-sometimes some structures spawn into eachother, foliage/trees merging into certain custom structures
-strongholds not spawning in the beta 1.7.3 preset (as a placeholder DnT strongholds are being used until the issue is fixed)
-using stonecutters crashes the game
For the best experience, put the resourcepacks in this order!

P.s.: ALSO for the best experience, please keep the beta 1.7.3 worlden preset as deafult when creating a new world, ALSO ALSO, you can freely use the custom structure datapack made specifically for the mod (Beta Structure Essentials) as long as you credit me for it!
