Better Than BMC

Better Than BMC aims to do what BMC claims to do. Make Minecraft better. Unlike BMC, which just throws mods at the wall kitchen sink style, my method is more focused.  

The concept:

1. Fix all the most common issues Minecraft has. 

2. Expand on different playstyles. 

3. Make small tweaks to rebalance the experience.  

The execution:

Transportation and exploration gets a major overhaul. Sail the expanded seas with Small Ships! Set up camp in the woods with the Simply Tents mod and Comforts mod; And keep track of where you’ve been and where you're heading thanks to Map Atlas for mapping and many mods for compasses and clocks (Northern Compass, Nature’s Compass, Immersive Overlays).

Want to bring in treasures on land to your home? Saddle up on a horse that's been tweaked with Horseman, Horse Expert, and other mods to give you the perfect horse riding experience, and pull a cart from the NiftyCarts mod with your blocks and passengers in tow!

And of course we can't forget the classic minecart. Hop in and boost it along the railway with rockets, courtesy of the Firework Boosted Minecarts mod. 

Villages have become more scarce since the Immersive Pillagers upped the scale of their operations. Find secret labs underground or fleets on the seas (from the Illager Ships mod), and uncover their master plan.

And you can uncover much more history thanks to Better Archeology and More Sniffer Flowers! Grab your brush and see what you can find in the new ruins!

Combat has been touched up a bit as well!

Better Trims now have effects, and more armors are available to craft and discover!

Better Shield! is a more dynamic version of the vanilla counterpart. Who needs spears, tridents, or maces, when the shield can do it all?

Enchanting has been reworked thanks to the Enchanting System Overhaul mod. No longer do you need bookshelves, but now you need to find enchanted books to learn the enchantment. Once you learn the enchantment, gather materials related to the enchantment to upgrade your gear. No need to doze off while grinding for XP anymore! 

But after all that you might want to go to a nice cozy house and relax. That's why there’s a plethora of new vanilla based building blocks via Frostbyte’s Slabs & Stairs, Vertical Slabs, Aesthetic Seating, and more!

Wanna cook up something nice? You know we got Farmer’s Delight with a menagerie of addons to expand your pallet and pallette!

Feeling nostalgic and want to go strip mining? A secret dimension exists below the bedrock where you can relive the golden years; Or you can turn back the clock on your whole world with Moderner Beta terrain generation.

While there is no specific mod for redstoners yet, you can enjoy what comes with mods such as The Aether and Poisonous Potato Update in a creative super flat world with Superflat World No Slimes to bother you as you build. 

This modpack is still a work in progress with many more tweaks to be made, such as:

• Making Treefeller an enchantment.
• Tweaking structure spawn rates.
• Tweaking certain mobs
• Creating a cleaner keyboard experience
