Description
🌥 CloudWars: Tech VS Magic 🌥
CloudWars is a large, exploration-focused RPG modpack built around a central idea: technology and magic are both growing rapidly, and the world is starting to fracture under the weight of both. Ancient powers are stirring, modern tools are spreading fast, and dozens of new dimensions are waiting to be explored. Players can focus on one path, mix both together, or simply wander and shape their own stories.
⚔️ Paths and Playstyles
You can build sprawling industrial cities powered by high-tech machines and advanced weaponry, or you can embrace the mystical side, cultivating mana, growing strange plants, raising magical creatures, and venturing into enchanted realms. There’s room for hybrid playstyles too, letting you blend magical and technological progress in creative ways.
There’s no mandatory progression path. You decide how you want to play. Build, explore, conquer, experiment, or just exist in the world. The tools are there, but the direction is yours to choose.
🌍 Dimensions and Exploration
Exploration is at the heart of CloudWars. The pack introduces a wide range of new realms, each with its own atmosphere, resources, and dangers. The Aether, Twilight Forest, Blue Skies, The Bumblezone, Foolish, DivineRPG worlds, Alex’s Caves, and more provide a huge variety of landscapes to discover.
The overworld isn’t static either. Thanks to multiple structure and dungeon mods, you’ll stumble upon ruins, strongholds, excavation sites, magical towers, futuristic facilities, and other points of interest. Foolish and DivineRPG in particular bring entire new ecosystems and boss encounters to hunt down, while Alex’s Caves adds unique underground biomes that feel genuinely fresh.
🧭 Dynamic Difficulty and Combat
The further you travel from spawn, the stronger enemies become. Hostile mobs have levels that scale with distance, giving exploration a natural sense of progression and encouraging thoughtful preparation before long journeys.
Combat itself has been overhauled through mods like Apotheosis and Better Combat, introducing smarter AI, new attack patterns, and deeper itemization. Healing is also more demanding with the First Aid mod, which replaces simple heart regeneration with a system that tracks injuries to different body parts. Carelessness can get you killed fast, even if you’re well equipped.
👑 Bosses and Challenges
Boss encounters are a major feature of this pack. Between Cataclysm, Foolish, DivineRPG, Twilight Forest, Born in Chaos, and others, there are dozens of bosses scattered across dimensions and dungeons. Some gate access to new areas, others simply wait for brave adventurers to challenge them. These fights often reward unique materials or gear that can’t be obtained anywhere else.
You’ll need to prepare, strategize, and bring your best gear if you want to survive the tougher fights. This isn’t just about bigger health bars, it’s about creating memorable encounters worth gathering your friends for.
🧰 Shops, Quests, and the Economy (WIP)
CloudWars features a structured economy that ties everything together. Items can be bought through themed storefronts, each designed like its own fictional company. From survival essentials and rare magical reagents to high-tech components and luxury goods, the admin shops give players a clear sense of value and progression. Prices scale logically with crafting recipes, rarity, and utility, so the economy feels consistent and rewarding.
Players earn money primarily by defeating mobs and completing quests. Over time, multiple questlines will be added, including story-driven adventures and repeatable contracts that reward exploration, combat, and resource gathering. This gives players a reliable way to engage with the economy while naturally playing the game.
🏘️ Multiplayer, Roleplay, and Community Building
CloudWars isn’t just about exploration and combat, it’s about building a living world together. MineColonies gives every player the power to shape their own territory, whether that’s a peaceful village, an industrial town, or a fortified base tucked into the wilderness. Colonies grow through planning and investment, developing into bustling settlements run by NPC citizens who work, trade, and defend their homes.
The Taxes and War systems add another layer of depth. Colonies generate income through taxation, which ties directly into the player-driven economy. This connects seamlessly with the server shops and markets, creating a feedback loop where thriving colonies support exploration and combat, and vice versa.
In multiplayer, this becomes a powerful roleplay engine. Each colony can develop its own identity, economy, and political stance. Trade routes can form between distant towns. Factions may rise and fall. Some players may ally under shared goals, while others may isolate themselves or compete for territory and influence. The farther you venture from spawn, the stronger the monsters become, so smart planning and cooperation are often rewarded.
⚠️ Disclaimer
CloudWars: Tech vs Magic is still in early development. Core systems like the economy, quests, and balance are actively being refined, and new features are being added regularly. Because of this, major changes may occur between updates, which can affect progression or world stability.
For now, we don’t recommend starting a long-term survival world or “forever server” on this pack. If you do, just keep in mind that things may shift as the modpack continues to evolve.
