About

Description

Features:

  • The days are twice as long.
  • Alongside hunger, now there's thirst. Tough As Nails temperature has been disabled to focus on a more relaxed environment.
  • There is no wawla or waila that displays what you're looking at. If you encounter something new, you will have to investigate it more thoroughly yourself.
  • Mobs in general are tougher than before, not only are they stronger but some of them possess neat skills; for example, Enderman may disarm you if they get the chance, dropping your weapon nearby.
  • Hardcore darkness makes it impossible to see underground without a light source. The Nether is also effected by Hardcore Darkness, it's very scary!
  • The moon phase determines the illumination on the surface at night.
  • Better Foliage envelopes you in a very immersive environment. Round logs are disabled.
  • Items physics.
  • A richer more vibrant environment.
  • Dynamic sounds and reverb.
  • Dynamic handheld lights. I recommend installing Optifine. Just plop it in your mods folder which should be located in Documents/Curse/Minecraft/Instances/Cosmo. 1.12.2 version of Minecraft.
  • A modest selection of tech and magic items to play with alongside your immersive environment.
  • New bosses! (they don't randomly spawn in the world like a regular mob, they have their own structures which they reside in if by chance you encounter one - can you conquer them all?)
  • But wait! There's more! Download this pack and see that it's not all that bad!

Tips for Survival:

In Cosmo, the elements are going to confront you right off the bat. So I present to the keen reader a few helpful tips you might appreciate if you decide to download this pack.

*Thirst can be managed by drinking from any random source, but you will not sustain hydration for long. An easy way to purify water is to create glass bottles and put it in a furnace to boil. There are also filters you can craft on the go, though it might be easier to use a furnace starting off. If you use a filter, use it on a canteen to purify it as it's more cost effective.

*InventoryPets provide useful abilities that can be especially helpful in this cruel world. Some abilities are passive, some are more direct. Just remember to feed your InventoryPet by keeping its required diet (as shown in the items description) in your inventory for it to passively consume, or it will disappear. Usually the more useful the pet, the more expensive its diet. InventoryPets will not do anything unless they're in your hotbar.

*Voxel Map has been removed. I want players to really feel their surroundings and focus on where they are alternatively to finding their way with a simple map in the top corner of their screen. This makes the experience feel a little more bare in a sense that provides to the immersion. Search for "Atlas" in your inventory menu to the right (Just Enough Items) and you should be able to navigate the world more naturally this way. While certain aspects such as toughasnails temperature afflictions were disabled, this was to make exploration more accessible. I hope you like it. :)
