Description

Create: Mechanized is a Create/Create Aeronautics centered multiplayer faction modpack with a custom nation building and chunk claim system. The core industry is built on Create: The Factory Must Grow with oil processing, steel production, and a semi-realistic electrical system. There are also additions such as Big Cannons, Steam N’ Rails, (completely legal) addictives, and more. There are purposely no mods featuring borderline overpowered content such as airship gyroscopes or jetpacks (elytras are also disabled). The goal is to encourage infrastructure development and for the player to design/build their own machines/vehicles/weapons/ect instead of obtaining one OP item.
What makes this modpack unique is the custom claiming system. It is built around “Claim Anchors” which is a new block that when placed protects a 5x5 chunk area. However, in order to maintain that protection the claim anchor must be fed with “Supplies” that are crafted from a combination of farmable and non-farmable items. These supplies extend the protection time remaining for the claim, which ticks down constantly. If supplies run out, the chunks are no longer protected.
It is impossible to claim anywhere in the world below y-level 9. The reason for this is to create a global mining area with no claims in the way. Deepslate begins generating at y-level 8, so basically if you see deepslate, nothing is protected. Extensive tunnels, train systems, or other infrastructure can be built down there without obstacles. It also prevents bases from being built at bedrock.
Claims can be made as an individual, as a faction, or both. Included is the FTB Teams mod which allows for team creation with member, officer, and owner ranks. A claim anchor can belong to an entire team with differing permissions for members and officers, or can be maintained by a sole person. Because larger teams will need more space, they will have to use multiple claim anchors to protect their land. Therefore their maintenance costs will be higher and their necessary infrastructure greater.
As land is developed, maintenance costs also increase. The time each supply gives is determined by how many non-natural blocks have been placed, leading to higher costs for developed nations (notably the cost increase is only noticeable for claims with 10,000+ blocks placed).
To facilitate conflict on the server is the “attack” system which detects when explosions or damaging projectiles hit blocks in a protected chunk (think TNT bombs or armor piercing shells from a cannon). When these attacks are detected, the system calculates a damage value based on how powerful the attack was and deducts that value from the protection time remaining in the claim anchor. As time is deducted supplies are used up until the defensive party runs out of resources or the offensive party is shut down. If the defensive party runs out of resources, they lose their claim. Note that while the claim anchor has supplies, these attacks don’t break blocks in your claim. They just lower its overall health.
Create Aeronautics’s capabilities alongside Big Cannons and Big Cannons addons enable these attacks from the ground, the sea, or the air.
Warning against adding Xaero's minimap to this modpack. It causes significant FPS reduction due to not utilizing the GPU properly when the minimap is open. I'm talking 600+ fps down to 30-45 fps.
