Description
Raise the crops, turn the cogs, and build a realm powered by steam and magic.
Crops’n’Cogs 2 is a medieval-fantasy farming and engineering modpack centered on enormous harvests, Create-powered machinery, detailed construction, and rewarding exploration.
Built for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, this complete rebuild of the original Crops’n’Cogs keeps farming and mechanical automation at its heart while surrounding them with magic, colorful world generation, storage systems, quests, building tools, and practical quality-of-life improvements.
Grow sprawling fields and orchards, prepare hundreds of meals, automate production with Create, establish medieval settlements, explore strange new biomes, and develop powerful magical equipment. The mod selection has been streamlined to reduce redundant systems, excessive complexity, and unnecessary bloat while preserving long-term progression and creative freedom.

What's New in Crops'n'Cogs 2? (The "Long Read" for those who care)
Crops'n'Cogs 2 is far more than a simple update—it's a complete rebuild for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge) with a renewed focus on what made the original pack fun in the first place. While farming, Create, and magic remain the heart of the experience, the pack has been carefully streamlined to remove unnecessary complexity, overlapping mechanics, and outdated content.
Many mods were removed because they competed with one another or pulled the pack away from its core identity. Large, technical magic mods such as Ars Nouveau, Botania, and Nature's Aura were dropped in favor of a more approachable progression through ProjectE, Apotheosis, and Forbidden & Arcanus. Likewise, Immersive Engineering was retired to allow Create to become the pack's single, unified engineering system, giving players one clear path for automation instead of several competing technologies.
World generation has also been completely refreshed. The aging terrain and structure combinations from the original pack have been replaced with the newer Oh The Biomes We've Gone and Tectonic, creating larger, more dramatic landscapes while remaining fully compatible with modern Minecraft. Numerous compatibility mods and outdated backports that were necessary on 1.16.5 are now built directly into the game or have been replaced with cleaner alternatives.
Quality-of-life has seen a major overhaul as well. Mapping, land claiming, and chunk loading have been consolidated into FTB Chunks, non-ProjectE sytle storage has been expanded with modern Sophisticated Storage integration, and the pack will soon include a much stronger collection of quests, in-game guides, recipe tools, and performance optimizations. Redundant utilities and cosmetic-only mods were trimmed away to reduce clutter and improve long-term stability.
The end result is a pack that stays true to the original vision—farming, machinery, exploration, and magic—while offering a smoother progression, a stronger medieval-steampunk atmosphere, better performance, and a cleaner overall experience in 1.21.1 for both new and returning players.
