Crystal Chaos
Beta.4 is now available on CurseForge, with its matching server pack. Use beta.4 on every client and the server.
Explore, find outrageous gear, then fight your friends. Crystal Chaos combines 153 third-party client mod files plus Crystal Chaos Core with timed loot hunts, compact battles, team play, discoveries and leaderboards. Libraries are included in that count. Default arenas suit 3–5 friends, with solo practice and adjustable settings for larger groups.
Choose Chests, Random Blocks, or Lucky Block Chaos. Supported structure containers share the same weighted Common-to-CHAOS rarity odds. Combat loot includes weapons, armor, spells, accessories, food and held totems, with guns, ammunition and block items excluded. Identical supplies stack normally. Random Blocks shares one reward per block type throughout a looting phase, then creates a new mapping next round. Boost ordinary loot quantity without changing rarity odds.
Lucky Block Chaos scatters eight native lucky-block variants plus Christmas and Halloween blocks. All use curated Crystal Chaos rewards, movement effects and bounded hazards. Three custom held totems provide fire protection, mobility or defense; a totem must be held in either hand to activate. Sparse mobs, safe-landing checks, loot-only /stuck and automatic rescue after rapid deaths keep mishaps playable.
Press Right Shift, use /chaosgui, or open the welcome book dashboard link. Choose modes, teams, timers, world themes, mutators, loot quantity and supply drops. Browse arena previews, vote before a round, favorite a completed battlefield, and replay a fresh copy of its original layout. Hover explanations and centered announcements help explain the controls. Classic, Quickplay, Duos, Mayhem and Speedrun provide starting presets; hosts can save their own. /speedround starts five minutes of looting with double ordinary rolls and a battle lasting up to five minutes.
Explore Temperate, Desert Frontier or Snowy Plains regions with recognizable terrain, more aboveground structures and modded ores underground. Fight in Crystal Colosseum, Ruined Crossroads, Skyshard Isles, Ember Forge, Frostkeep, Sunken Ruins, Overgrown Temple or Rift Bridges, or choose generated town, city and ruin layouts. Natural arenas remain available. Exploration stays clear and at noon; themed night arenas and the Night mutator provide exceptions for battle. Speed, low gravity, bulwark and announced supply drops add variety.
Crystal Plaza is a protected daytime lobby with a crystal garden and parkour. Looting begins with a stone pickaxe and food. Hunger stays full in the lobby and looting phase; battles start with full hunger and six saturation points. Loot-phase deaths preserve round gear and XP. Battle deaths drop gear and move eliminated players into spectator mode. Mid-round arrivals spectate, with a Watch menu for choosing a living player. Fire spread is disabled in Crystal Chaos play dimensions. Round cleanup clears waypoints for the current server/world.
A victory interval and personal recap mark the result before supported original lobby state returns. Collections, wins, credited kills and completed competitive rounds stay saved with the world. /chaos return leaves a round, /chaos recover retries pending recovery, and /chaos guidebook replaces a missing guide without clearing inventory. /randomround, /chaos surprise and /chaos hype add quick game-night options.
Original crystal artwork, an animated main menu, rarity tooltips, chest-slot glow, discovery celebrations, low fire and reduced-motion controls give the pack a consistent style. Join friends remembers the server address entered locally. Gameplay works in singleplayer, LAN and normal Forge servers without extra server plugins. The singleplayer owner can use the dashboard with cheats off; dedicated hosts require operator level 2.
Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge 47.4.10 · Java 17. Start with 8 GB allocated to the client profile, leaving memory for other programs. The matching public server pack includes hosting instructions. Back up complete worlds before updates.
This is a beta for playtesting. Local checks cover 42 logic tests, 96 core Minecraft tests, all 96 full-pack server tests and a real graphical-client workflow. Extended multiplayer balance still needs playtesting. Structure availability varies by biome and seed; some special containers and progression items are excluded. Supported equipment recovery includes Curios, Palladium and Iron’s Spells; arbitrary external progression is not fully restored. If safe entry cannot finish within its limits, the round cancels into recovery. Generated rounds use fresh regions, so used regions accumulate in the world save.
