Cube Soup Neo
No reviews yet
Improving off of the origional Cube Soup modpack, Cube Soup makes it's return on Neoforge! The pack features many mod favorites from the origional pack, and many new ones thrown in the mix too!
Centered around complex tech and/or magic where large-scale automation is necessary, often taking many hours to craft items and hundreds or thousands of hours to fully complete.
Focuses on automation and resource processing through scientific and mechanical means, utilizing systems like electricity (RF/FE/etc), air pressure, or rotation.
Neoforge is a fork of the Minecraft Forge available for versions 1.20.1+ of Minecraft. Many Forge mods are compatible with Neoforge and vice versa.

Welcome to
Cube Soup Neo
Yep, same formatting like the previous.. except for some color and titles. The previous, if you don't know, is Cube Soup!
Now with that out of the way, what exactly is Cube Soup?
Cube Soup Neo is an overhaul/improvement based on the original 1.20.1 forge modpack known as Cube Soup. The "old" modpack had plenty of performance issues and was super big. This one is similar, but with performance first before the features!
In some other words, it was a modpack made for a group of friends who pitched their own favorite mods in, and they were mixed all up together into a soup to indulge in together and enjoy! Now, I'm simply overhauling it to be fun for everyone, not just my friends.
Here's some ranting about some of the features:
CSNeo (yes, I made that shortening up on the fly) features most of the same mods as the previous. If you enjoyed mods like Create, Mekanism, Industrial Foregoing and Silent Gear, we have those mods in this pack too! Many other mods did have to go, like Tinker's Construct, as they don't support version 1.21.1 of Neoforge.
This pack's most featured mod, which took me SO much work to actually get working without repeated crashes (seriously, compatibility is crazy hard to get for this new one), is Create Aeronautics! I really suggest checking it out when you load in, if you like Create.
When you spawn in, you'll notice you have only three hearts. That's not a bug, but a little challenge to the pack. To get more hearts, you'll need to make use of health booster tonics, Baubley Heart Canisters, Life Crystals, and The Spice of Life's food-heart giving features. There's plenty of ways to gain more health, even more than I've actually shared! You'll be able to get your health back in a jiffy, and then some.
You may also notice there are no Quests to undertake, at least via something like FTB Quests. That's fully intentional. Minecraft has always been about taking advantage of every feature it has given you to make whatever you can imagine. This modpack basically takes it a step further by giving you 10x the materials, with no limitations on how you make them implemented on my part. I've almost configured nothing, so all recipes are how the mod authors intended them to be.
If you do want quests, I can make some in an update if most of you let me know in the comments. Otherwise, in the meantime, feel free to use the advancements menu to guide you along your journey, if you need it.
With that rant done, how about I tell you the technical details?
The pack, as of personal testing, can run comfortably fine at 8-10gbs of ram, even with shaders enabled! You shouldn't need more than that to get you going.
Shaders don't seem to work fine with some mods like Draconic Evolution. Items in 3d don't seem to render very well, but they do function and lag appears to not be an issue!
When loading in for the first time, the game does seem to take a heavier load on the resources to optimize and load everything before you pop in. When loading into a world that you've already created, it'll do similar but also be a little laggy when you can visually see everything. Just give it a moment longer until everything fully loads in, and everything should smoothen out.
I have yet to test absolutely everything in the pack, so if you encounter any issues, feel free to make a comment and I'll look into it if possible! I'll be playing the pack myself and making videos on it. I don't know if I'm allowed to link anything here, but I'll do so after I make sure. With that said, the pack will randomly undergo updates when I personally encounter things as I go.
I'm not really sure what else to put, as I'm not a big-time professional here. I will say there isn't a discord, and I don't intend to have one unless this surprisingly gets popular and you guys want one. I'll make one if you really do. That aside, I hope you all enjoy the pack, and have plenty of good adventures!
(feel free to make forks or whatever of this pack)
..hopefully this is a little more detailed of a description compared to what I poorly provided in the previous pack. Even if it might miss some things..
