Description

Welcome to DAMPACK'D!
DAMPACK'D is a mod pack with way too many mods and way too many bugs. There is really no theme or direction to the pack, so it's up to you to decide how you want to play. This is a kitchen sink mod pack. This pack was created largely as a nostalgia trip, as I have made two other packs many years ago. It was also made because a select few people wouldn't stop requesting it, and this was the only way to make the voices in my head stop.
DAMPACK'D is something close to what I think kitchen sink packs should be. A variety of mods have been added to make your experience more fleshy. Realistic weather and sounds will accompany you through your journey through a myriad of mods. Some mods have been tweaked to make it more difficult to get super op stuff (see below), and some optimizations have been made for server owners (namely restricting some chunkloaders so that players have to use FTB Utilities). A lot of work has gone into making sure that major bugs/crashes are generally uncommon, but they can still happen with large packs like this.
Bottom line: This pack is for you to have fun venturing into whatever pleases you.
Recommendations and Notices
You don't necessarily have to follow all these, but you probably should.
- RAM: You should dedicate at least 5-6GB of RAM to the pack; anything less and you're in uncharted territory. I used 8GB when putting the pack together, so it should be plenty enough if you can spare it.
Disk Space: 1GB of disk space should be more than enough for a minimal installation, but you may need more if you play a lot of singleplayer.
Performance Notice: This pack WILL perform poorly on potato laptops, so keep that in mind. You may even get unspectacular FPS on a high-end machine.
OptiFine: You can always install OptiFine If our included FPS booster (BetterFPS) doesn't cut if for you. Just note that during our testing it caused some rendering glitches like inventory items appearing above other UI elements and JourneyMap presenting a blue screen. I'm sure that you can probably avoid this by changing one of OptiFine's million settings (probably fast render if I had to guess).
Other
Things that make the game a bit harder:
- RFTools dimensions (should) consume 50% more power.
- RFTools dimension builders should require a bunch of draconic stuff to make.
- I disabled a bunch of giant chance cube rewards.
Known Issues:
- Lava and Water do not properly obscure the vision of users
- TNT doesn't make a sound
This mod pack uses these non-CurseForge mods:
- Galacticraft (and it's components) by Micdoodle8 (Link)
