Description

Dark Inquiry

The 3 D's of Dark Inquiry:

  1. Dedication
  2. Desperation
  3. Decimation

Once your part of it, you can't get out. Dedicating hours and days crafting, gathering, and hunting. Desperately trying to keep everything you do a secret, nobody can know where you are, or what your doing. It all leads up to decimation, total and utter annihilation of the enemies you've made.  You never know who is on your side, and what their next move is.

Dark Inquiry Recommendations:

  • Play with friends! Decimate your 'Friends', not yourself
  • Double the time of night! (See farther down for tut)
  • World Boundaries!! Use them! making a 750 World Boundary keeps everyone close (and edgy)
  • No Live Map with journey map, it shows player locations :( BOO

Server Detailing:

  • I run a personal server for friends, and don't pay to host it.
  • ****RUN WITH nogui**** Minecraft's server GUI uses CPU and RAM heavily.
  • Doesn't take a lot to run, 64bit java preferred
  • I recommend server plugins, Spigot/Bukkit

Longer Nights:

First as a moderator use the command /gamerule doDaylightCycle false. This just makes the time stop. Now we need a circuit to add time while it's day/night. I use Super Circuit Maker to make this. It can be easily done with normal redstone. I use 2 daylight sensors (one as a night sensor, just right click a daylight to change it to night!) use the screwdriver to make the sensors incoming connections (sneak right click) place ender pulsars as i do, set it to 15 ticks (personal preference). make two leads from the ender pulsar (as we want longer shorter days, a redstone signal disables the pulsar) into command blocks. I use two command blocks with the command "time add 3" in each command block. Make sure to set the edges towards the command blocks to outgoing signals by regular right clicking. Repeat this for the daylight senor but only using one pulsar (as we want longer nights). Once completed to hide the circuit board sneak right click the board near the middle. now we have nights twice as long as days! you can change the time add command and pulsar tick lengths to whatever you preffer i just use 3 for the command and 15 ticks for the pulsars, i find this a good time.

Side notes:

I run the server with 12GB RAM and my client with 8GB, I find 4GB works just as well (I have 32GB total)

Key bindings, there are a lot of them, I left them default because everyone has their own preference.

Most importantly, have fun. Don't Rage if your playing multiplayer, it'll keep you from coming back.

Feedback is greatly appreciated! Still testing out balancing and fixing bugs/glitches
