Modpack
Eccentrically Convoluted Technological Greg
No reviews yet
An unusual GregTech modpack featuring vanilla GTCE (among other mods), bringing a unique experience automating machinery and resources.
Focuses on automation and resource processing through scientific and mechanical means, utilizing systems like electricity (RF/FE/etc), air pressure, or rotation.
Includes quests that drive progression, whether through a quest book, NPC, or other in world source.
Forge is a popular mod loader for versions 1.1+ of Minecraft.

Description
A pack only containing GTCE, with no addon mods such as Gregicality or Shadows of Greg, is certainly a rather unique pack. It is way shorter than the average modpack, and less difficult as well (at least when compared to my other modpacks). It offers a lightweight experience, not being too grindy, but still requiring thorough effort. The general gameplay is as follows:
- The player starts like everywhere else, punching some wood to gather tools, and eventually basic resources. Mainly: Iron, Diamonds, Glowstone...
- After a while, and with sufficient resources, the player gains access to ProjectE. A mod that allows you to exchange one resource for another, making resource collection easy. The player will use this everywhere throughout the modpack.
- When proper ProjectE infrastructure is in place, this is where the player reaches the star of the show, Gregtech Community Edition. Working their way through the machine tiers the mod offers: Steam Age, Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, High Voltage, Extreme Voltage and Insane Voltage, the player reaches the Endgame. Here, they are tasked with obtaining the Creative Satchel. With that, they beat the modpack.
- Thermal Expansion has been added to aid and assist with the progression, granting the player additional machines, for example, the Aqueous Accumulator for when you need to automatically collect water. It is unlockable at any time during the playthrough, not being gated behind any specific tier or mod.
- I have included FTB Quests, to guide the player towards the right direction in progression, as every modpack should. With a thoroughly designed questbook, featuring many steps of the progression, the player should never feel "lost".
- Additional minor, quality-of-life mods have been added, such as: Trash Cans, HWYLA, Better Builder's Wands...
The recipes have been adjusted to bring a smoother and better experience.
I wouldn't consider this modpack to be exactly beginner-friendly, but it is certainly one of the easier GregTech modpacks.
