Welcome to Embark! This modpack was created to provide a grounded experience for small-group multiplayer gameplay. With a base concept of Vanilla+ combined with a thirst for adventure and difficulty, this pack aims to deliver a thorough playthrough that keeps the pace and intrigue all the way through.

This modpack would not be possible without the hard work of all of the mod authors. These guys are the only reason that we can enjoy Minecraft the way we do, and their work is the basis for all the modpack experiences on CurseForge. Please, check out the mods and mod authors. I like Minecraft because of... well, Minecraft. A lot of modpacks I've played through are very different than Vanilla Minecraft, and more often than not the gameplay loops are more overwhelming than anything else. Embark sets out to provide as much content and quality-of-life improvements as possible all while keeping true to Minecraft's core gameplay loop. No quests, no locked content, and no special gamerules. You know exactly what to expect when hopping into a fresh survival world; these mods add to the game, not redefine it.

Many times have I watched someone's game stream only to immediately think "yeah, that's DEFINITELY modded Minecraft". While most players can spot the subtle differences between Vanilla MC and modded, Embark and its modlist try to keep everything as seamless to the original game as possible. There are no technology or magic mods, and there are no monsters or models that would look out of place in the base game. To further ground the experience, many aesthetic and QoL mods were added to the experience; new HUD elements, better foliage, performance enhancements, dynamic sounds, and more.

I am a sucker for a challenging but fair experience. Structures can give you a great head start in gear and resources, but are rare enough to incentivize crafting your own gear. Dragons and serpents can be slain for powerful tools, but will put up a fierce fight in return. Monsters often spawn with armor, weapons, and even potions. Your gear, your playstyle, and your awareness will all be key in establishing your legacy in the world of Embark.
