Enigmatica 2: Expert is a staple entry in the Enigmatica series of Modpacks which is still played and adored to this day, as with many other 1.12 Modpacks. E2:E gently guides the player through the stages of the game but doesn't hold your hand through everything.

This Modpack takes a lot of well known Mods from the 1.12 and mashes them together through heavily customized recipes, tasking players to explore technology, magic, automation, and resource management in ways they usually wouldn't, as per for most, if not all Expert packs. The long-term challenge with E2:E is where the Modpack truly shines in my opinion. The ramping stages from linear and easy progression quickly become a large variety of problems with the player needing use their creative juices and constantly think of new solutions. Yes, this is a rather grindy Modpack, but it's perfect for the players who love complex progression and intricate puzzles. It is regarded by most as one of the most rewarding and polished Expert Modpacks ever made.

The good is not without the bad. Due to it's reliance on Java 8, the Modpack suffers from substantial load times and questionable performances in areas. Forks of this pack have been made to deal with this issue, such as E2:E - Unofficial, so there's always that option. Over your playthrough on the original Modpack though, you will inevitably encounter crashes/errors, dips in FPS due to ever expanding machinery, and possible world corruption. Back up as you go! A good rule of thumb is to backup on-top of the auto-backups, whenever you reach a milestone or big progression point during your time playing - back that sucker up!

Overall this Modpack is for the dedicated and driven of the Modded Minecraft Community, it is heavily grind focused and the late-game tasks turn into more of a necessity due to the ever expanding recipe complexity. It is truly rewarding to be able to craft one, if not all, creative items and gear. I thoroughly recommend this Modpack to anyone looking to start a long journey with a very satisfying conclusion.
