Biomes O Plenty - new Biomes, more Variety
Mekanism + Generators, Tools - big Techmod, includes Energy and a Jetpack
Simple Planes - Well, simply planes
Small Ships - real ships, not just boats to get across the ocean.
Easier Sleeping - only one person has to sleep to skip the night
Fast Leaf Decay - leaves disappear almost instantly after chopping a tree
RightClickHarvest - rightclick with a hoe to replant the crops
Gravestone Mod - stores items at death
 Waystones - for teleporting around
Xaero's Minimap + World Map - map for better orientation and setting waypoints
Signpost - to show the directions to any location

Sophisticated Backpacks - more inventory space, without needing shulker boxes

Just Player Heads and Just Mob Heads - gives a chance to drop the heads as a hat on death

We need those API-Mods for other mods to function.
