The nether portal won't work!
This is intended. Read the nether mechanics posted below if you get stuck.
Will you be porting this to version X?
Probably not. There are no plans for version changes at the moment.

Nether travel mechanics hint (if you get stuck):
Keep going down, and take a leap of faith.
Full nether mechanic explanation (if you get really stuck):
Getting in:
- Make sure you have some chorus fruit. It can be crafted with an apple and an ender pearl
- Go to the bottom of the world, stand on bedrock, and eat the chorus fruit
- Jump into the void!
- Eat some more chorus fruit (if this doesn't work, tower up and try again. You can craft mushroom blocks)
- You are in!
Getting out:
- Craft the Bedrock Breaker and Levitation Crystal. (recipes can be found in JEI).
- Use the Bedrock Breaker to get through the nether roof.
- Use the levitation crystal to float up.
- Go as high as you can, and then eat some chorus fruit. (If you don't have any, drop back down into the nether and one will appear in your inventory).
- You are out!
