Description

Eye Candy 1.3.7 has been released as the official version for Minecraft 1.18.2! Thank you for downloading :)

Purpose:

Eye Candy is a modpack made primarily for client-side use, but running it on the server helps too!

This modpack aims to enhance the vanilla survival experience for those who use it. While it may be called eye candy, this pack isn't only visual. Including unique audio, enhanced performance, quality of life improvements, and more, this pack will change your entire game experience!

Who is this modpack for?

Eye Candy was designed to be used in survival worlds with your friends. If you choose to use it on public servers, you will want to verify whether or not certain mods such as Xaeros Minimap are allowed. If some mods aren't allowed, but you still want the other amazing mods, simply disable the banned mod(s) through Curseforge's clean interface.

What about Optifine?

This modpack entirely eliminates the need for Optifine by giving you all the best Optifine features such as zoom and performance optimizations. The difference being that these new features are better, more flexible, and much faster than Optifine!

Why for Fabric and not Forge?

There are better questions to be asked: Why would a modpack that seeks maximum performance ever go on Forge? ;)

Mod List:

Red items are not yet supported but are planned to be added.

Essentials

  • Architectury API - An intermediary API aimed to ease the development of multiplatform mods.
  • Balm - Abstraction Layer (but not really) for Blay's multiplatform mods.
  • Cloth Config API - Config Screen API for Fabric 1.14
  • Fabric API - Core API library for the Fabric toolchain

Optimizing

  • Debugify -  Fixes over 60 bugs found on the bug tracker in Minecraft.
  • Entity Culling - Uses async path-tracing to skip rendering Tiles/Entities that are not visible.
  • Farsight [Fabric] -  Lets you see farther on servers than the servers view distance.
  • FerriteCore -  Reduces the memory usage of Minecraft in a few different ways.
  • Indium -  Addon for Sodium providing support for the Fabric Rendering API.
  • Krypton - A mod to optimize the Minecraft networking stack.
  • LazyDFU - Makes the initialization of DataFixerUpper "lazy," which makes Minecraft launch swiftly
  • Lithium -  A general-purpose optimization mod for Minecraft that works to improve many systems.
  • No Fade - Remove fade-out animations in Minecraft.
  • Smooth Boot - Optimize Minecraft loading performance for both high and low-end systems.
  • Sodium - Greatly improves frame rates, reduces micro-stutter, and fixes graphical issues.
  • Sodium Extra - Expands sodium functionality.

Visual and audio

  • Better Mount HUD - Adds a HUD while riding a horse, donkey, or other mounts that improve upon the vanilla experience.
  • Colormatic - an independent implementation that is resource-pack-compatible with the original Custom Colors mod for Minecraft on Fabric. It is fully.
  • Iris Shaders - A modern mod for Minecraft intended to be compatible with existing Optifine shaders.
  • LambDynamicLights - A dynamic lights mod for Fabric.
  • Presence Footsteps - An overly complicated sound mod...
  • Starlight - Rewrites the light engine to fix lighting performance and lighting errors.

Quality of life

Extras:

Eye Candy comes with some extra pre-installed features and changes:

  • The YoFPS High and Low shaders are already implemented in the shader section under video settings which you are welcome to turn on. Note that Iris Shaders allow any Optifine compatible shaders to be used on fabric. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to edit shader-specific settings within Minecraft itself through Iris. If you are adamant about changing the shader settings, there are Youtube videos on how to change the settings through your system file explorer.
  • There is also a useful "Clear Pumpkin" resource pack (but turned off by default).
  • Lastly, a connected glass resource pack is also available to be used right off the bat.

Additionally, some default options are changed:
  • GUI Scale has been set to 3 versus the original "auto." 3 has proven to be more user-friendly across all types of screens and computers.
  • Auto-Jump has been turned off. I expect my modpack users have ascended past the gameplay skill level where auto-jump would ever be considered helpful.
  • Mouse Sensitivity has been reduced to 60%. 100% is usually on the higher end, so it's beneficial to reduce it for players who never change their sensitivity. Most likely, you will change your sensitivity regardless, as preferences always differ.
  • Unbound "Save Hotbar Activator" as it overlaps with the default zoom key "C" for ok zoomer.
  • tutorialStep is set to none. If you know how to download this modpack, then I would bet money that you don't need a tutorial on how to craft your first crafting table
