Description
A balanced modpack centered around magic vs tech. Create factions and fight with your friends against your foes (or other friends).
The idea of this modpack is to allow for quick progression, so players actually engage in PvP and in war. Several things have been changed to balance around the OP Mekanism endgame. Even if factions are encouraged to focus on either tech or magic, nothing stops players from engaging in both types of mod.
Some mods should be used by all players, and they have been balanced around the idea of everyone using them, such as ProjectE and Vampirism. Vampires are slightly stronger than Hunters and Werewolfs, specially in the endgame, as an indirect buff to magic users, who have an worse endgame overall.
Begin the modpack by typing /spawn or /mining (from Lobby, Fishing and Mining Dimension) and crafting a transmutation table from ProjectE using 4 pieces of dirt, like crafting a crafting table. Don't expect much more from ProjectE, though. The Philosopher stone has been disabled, therefore disabling most of the content from the mod. You can still craft the repair talisman, though. By default, only 75% of an item's EMC is earned when you put it in the table. You can change that if you'd like, but I recommend against it (config > ProjectE > server.toml > covalenceLoss = 1.0).
Now that you started the game, you can choose a mod to focus. I highly recommend rushing Mekanism and Powah for Tech players and Ars Noveau and Iron's Spells for Magic users. Occultism is also highly recommended, since it's your best bet at automation and item storage, unless you want to deal with AE2 without having good energy generation. It's all up to you, however. Be a necromancer who stores their items at a computer, or a mekanism nerd using Holy magic.
Planned features:
- Harder Mekanism Meka armor crafting;
- Dungeon crawling;
- Level up/skills/RPG mechanics.
