This modpack allows you to do whatever you want both you and your friend.
If your friend loves rpg mods but you love tech mods rather that rpg this modpack for you.
You can go to space, ride a dragon, craft guns and any kind of weapon, cast massive spells, slay all bosses, crush dozens of robot or be crushed by them.
If you just want to exploration there is too much structure for you.
But you shouldn't forget that there is no specific goal so you must find one.
