About
Description
Build a home in a world that keeps trying to take it from you.
Fight the Night is a horror survival modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1, built around atmosphere, exploration, base defense and long-term survival.
The world is not ruined. That is the point.
Forests still look worth crossing. Roads still lead somewhere. Villages, ruins, rivers, towers and strange places still make you want to leave your shelter and see what is out there.
Then night comes.
Something moves between the trees. Something waits in the caves. Rain can become a warning. A voice in the dark may not be a player. Some threats can be fought, some should be avoided, and some are better understood before you decide what to do.
Fight the Night is about trying to live in a world that is beautiful enough to keep, and hostile enough to make keeping it difficult.

What To Expect
- Horror survival built around atmosphere, danger and exploration
- A beautiful world with ruins, roads, villages, dungeons, towers and strange places worth finding
- A new FTB Quests progression tree made to guide survival without turning the pack into a tutorial wall
- Guns, melee weapons, rare loot, backpacks, waystones, an atlas and practical survival tools
- Thirst, temperature and sanity systems
- Hostile nights, cave threats, rain events, stalkers, infection systems and larger late-game monsters
- Base defense with SecurityCraft, Create, TaCZ Turrets, cameras, reinforced blocks and protected doors
- Resource packs, shaders, sound design and visual tweaks configured for the intended horror atmosphere
Survive, Settle, And Defend
You are not expected to wander forever.
Build a shelter. Light the area. Mark the way back. Keep food, water and an exit ready.
As you progress, you can turn a fragile base into something that actually helps you survive:
- reinforce doors and blocks
- place cameras and security systems
- build Create machines
- set up TaCZ weapons and turret defense
- use waystones and teleport routes carefully
- carry better gear, tools and supplies
The pack is meant to let you settle down, then make you earn the right to stay there.
Quests And Progression
The quest book is currently being rebuilt into a single visible progression tree.
Early quests branch into:
- shelter, light and safe exits
- water, canteens, food, temperature and sanity
- backpacks, atlas and waystones
- Create basics and base security
- Simply Swords, enchanting and TaCZ gear
- caves, deep dark routes and early horror encounters
- infection threats such as The Flesh That Hates and Sculk Horde
The quest book is still in beta. More branches, better rewards and more late-game horror progression are planned.
Horror That Changes How You Play
Fight the Night uses horror as pressure.
Some mobs punish careless fighting. Some hunt through sound or darkness. Some are tied to weather, caves, roads or specific places. Some threats are meant to be managed instead of farmed.
You will need to learn when to:
- stay inside
- light an area
- leave a base behind
- carry water and food
- keep an escape plan ready
- fight back
- run
Future Plans
Fight the Night is still in beta, and I am actively working on the pack.
Planned features include:
- more quest branches
- better quest rewards and requirements
- improved late-game horror progression
- more balancing for infection systems
- more performance testing
- a future ritual or milestone system to banish specific horror spawns after the player has survived and completed the right progression
The banishing system is not in the pack yet. It is part of the long-term direction: eventually, players should be able to push back against some threats instead of only surviving them forever.
Visuals And Performance
Fight the Night is designed around fog, sound, shaders and atmosphere.
The default visual setup aims for a horror look without making the game unplayable on lower-end PCs.
Current performance goals:
- main horror shader: around 50-60 FPS on hardware similar to the author's low-end PC
- lighter shader profile: around 80-100 FPS
- no shaders: around 120 FPS
- recommended render distance: 8-10 chunks with fog
Performance is still being tuned. If something feels too heavy, leave a comment with your specs and the shader/settings you used.
Recommended
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge
- 10 GB RAM allocated
- 8-10 render distance
- Headphones recommended
- Use the lighter shader profile if the main shader is too heavy
Find shelter.
Mark the way back.
Do not trust every sound.
Fight the night.
