The Forgotten Files — Alternate Timeline

The Forgotten Files is an alternate timeline of Wretched Realms, a vision created by the TORMENTOR itself just for you.

In this timeline, the world you explore is not the result of a natural invasion — it is a projection. A fractured reality where abandoned concepts, scrapped ideas, and forgotten versions of mods resurface, stitched together into something deeply unsettling.

Not everything that was discarded was truly erased.

A Vision of What Could Have Been

Unlike Wretched Realms, where the Arthropod Army relies on powerful generals such as the Trisector or the Diabolos, The Forgotten Files explores a darker possibility:

What if the TORMENTOR chose a different army?
What if it recruited entities born purely from fear?

In this timeline, the TORMENTOR experiments with creatures from horror-focused mods — unstable, unpredictable, and relentless. These mobs do not serve order or conquest; they only exist to terrorize, stalk... and try to eliminate you.

A World Built on Fear, Not Glory

This timeline is intentionally designed with a different focus: it is more focused on horror than boss fights, while still keeping some to preserve the main objective of Wretched Realms.

Combat is no longer the main objective. Survival, exploration, and dread take center stage. Every structure feels wrong. Every sound feels intentional. Every encounter feels personal.

Canon to the Wretched Realms Lore

Despite being an alternate timeline, The Forgotten Files is canon.

It represents:

  • a failed experiment
  • a discarded simulation
  • a world the TORMENTOR observed… and abandoned

Fragments of this timeline echo throughout Wretched Realms, hinting that the TORMENTOR has tested countless realities before settling on the invasion you face in the main timeline.

A Different Experience

The Forgotten Files is not meant to replace Wretched Realms.
It exists alongside it.

  • Wretched Realms focuses on boss progression and escalation
  • The Forgotten Files focuses on horror, isolation, and uncertainty

Both serve the same purpose:
to show the scope of the TORMENTOR’s influence.
