Intro

This is the first module of a larger modpack I am developing called Fusion, inspired by the Tekkit series and Sevtech Ages. The purpose of this mini-pack is to provide a base with good performance to build the pack on, and for others too.

FusionCore

Fusion: Core is the first module to be released. This module includes no new content or content mods but what it does have is a finely tuned bunch of performance enhancing mods. The pack comes with configuration files included (for the game and Optifine).

For the best experience, download Optifine G5 and also apply the Java arguments listed on this page. Why? Because I have tweaked everything to reduce the amount of RAM Minecraft uses.

JavaArguments

-XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseNUMA -XX:+CMSParallelRemarkEnabled -XX:GCPauseIntervalMillis=150 -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -XX:+UseBiasedLocking -XX:SurvivorRatio=8 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+UseCodeCacheFlushing -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=10000 -Dfile.encoding=GBK -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+CMSConcurrentMTEnabled -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=1800000 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+ExplicitGCInvokesConcurrent -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:+UseStringDeduplication -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -XX:-OmitStackTraceInFastThrow -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary -XX:NewRatio=3 -Dfml.readTimeout=90 -XX:+UseFastAccessorMethods -XX:CMSInitiatingOccupancyFraction=75 -XX:+CMSScavengeBeforeRemark -XX:+UseCMSInitiatingOccupancyOnly

Please set your minimum RAM to: 128mb, maximum RAM doesn't matter too much. I have mine set at 4GB (4096mb).

I would appreciate feedback on any performance improvement or decrease in performance in the comments below.

Thanks,
Bolte
