SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE & RENDERING PIPELINE

Modernized Graphics Engine

Vanilla Minecraft isn't only optimized in one way. It is laggy on the CPU end, the GPU end, and everything between! These mods fix that:

  • Sodium: Much faster than OptiFine, it makes rendering much more optimized for poor performing and good performing computers.
  • ImmediatelyFast: This mod helps speed up immediate mode rendering in Minecraft to make your FPS higher. (This is like the GUI and fonts and stuff!)
  • BadOptimizations: It removes unnecessary tick operations that cause lag in games, especially on CPU and GPU.
CULLING & VISUAL PRUNING

Smart Resource Management

Don't render geometry and textures you can't see, it's not worth it. Instead cull them when you aren't looking at them.:

  • Entity Culling: Using raycasting, it improve's Minecraft's incomplete and poor entity culling system!
  • More Culling & Cull Leaves: These both enhance all types of culling, and help rebuild block culling to be even better.
  • Leaves Be Gone: Although not direct culling, it makes leaf decay much faster, fixing areas with decaying leaves causing FPS and CPU issues.
ENGINE LOGIC & MEMORY TUNING

Backend & Tick Rate Stability

Unoptimized ticks and memory usage make the game unplayable for some and worse for others, and these mods help fix it.

  • Lithium: This mod does a ton of stuff, but it is heavily CPU lag reduced based for things involving heavy calculating!
  • FerriteCore: High RAM usage is a big no on many PCs with today's prices, this mod makes your RAM usage lower.
  • ModernFix: Fixes innefficient code, memory issues, and more in the game to make it overall more playable!
  • VMP (Very Many Players): This mod is only useful server-side, but it helps to make servers calculate better with high player counts.
QUALITY OF LIFE & BACKGROUND CONTROLS

Smooth Operations

  • Dynamic FPS & FPS Reducer: When you aren't in game, using high GPU power can be very power inefficient and just overall wasteful!
  • Language Reload: When you switch languages, this mod makes it not take a year to reload everything!
  • Entity Texture & Model Features (ETF/EMF): Custom mod models and textures come to the game with OptiFine support without Optifine's lag!
