Here is a list of highlighted mods. (Not comprehensive)

Distant Horizons

• Link: Generates simplified LOD for distant Terrain to enable really far view distances with reasonable performance.

Terrain and Biome Mods

• Geophilic: Subtle overhaul of vanilla biomes adding rocks, fallen trees, moss, tree stumps and bushes to make the forests more immersive.
• Tectonic: Mountain Ranges, Underground Rivers, Oceanside Cliffs. Overall most terrain features are larger scale which works in harmony with the Distant Horizons view distance.
• Terralith: 90+ new biomes using only vanilla blocks.
• Regions Unexplored: 70+ new biomes with a plethora of things to discover.

Content Mods:

• Create: Aesthetic automation through beautifully animated contraptions. Lots of Create Addons too!
• Tech Reborn: Modern take on classic tech mods like BuildCraft for the fabric modloader.
• Applied Energistics 2: Comprehensive and technical mod centered around inventory management.
• RPG Series: Optional RPG-style class progression like Wizards and Archers to pursue.
• BetterNether / BetterEnd: Huge facelift for both Dimensions. The nether feels opressive and hostile, while the End is like an alien realm.
• YUNG's Better Structures: YUNG's better structures mods improve on almost all minecraft structures. Sorely needed updates on some structures that are a decade old.
• Ad Astra: Build rockets and become an astronaut to explore other celestial bodies.
• Farmer's Delight: Expansion to cooking and farming, adding tons of recipes and tools.
