The Third Part is the Minecraft 1.20.1 entry in this series, centered on Hiccup's Legacy - How to Train Your Dragon. Meet rideable dragons and combine a dragon adventure with spellcasting, exploration, tool progression and modern automation.

What you can do

• Hiccup's Legacy: Rideable dragons, themed weapons, plants and dragon-related mechanics form the heart of this release. The mod's in-game documentation is a useful starting point.
• Magic and new destinations: Ars Nouveau adds spellcasting, while Deeper and Darker and Towns and Towers broaden your exploration.
• Machines and storage: Mekanism and its add-ons, Industrial Foregoing and Ender IO support automation. Refined Storage, its add-ons and Storage Drawers organize your resources.
• Tools and equipment: Tinkers' Construct, Tinkers' Levelling Addon, Tool Belt and Classic Backpacks help you prepare for longer expeditions.
• A varied survival world: Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Oh The Trees You'll Grow and Aquaculture add variety; Waystones and Corail Tombstone help with travel and recovery.

Getting started

1. Install this modpack through the CurseForge app and choose the release you want to play.
2. Launch its profile with Java 17. Keep the bundled mod versions and configuration together.
3. For multiplayer, all players need the same modpack release as the server.

Updating: Back up your worlds before updating. Use a separate profile to try a new release before moving an existing world.

The three Dragon packs are separate modpacks on different Minecraft versions. Their worlds are not intended to be moved between parts.

Hosting a server

Open Files, select release 2026.10.01, then download its matching Server Pack from Additional Files. Every player still needs the full client modpack.

1. Extract the server ZIP into an empty folder and install 64-bit Java 17.
2. Run install.bat on Windows or sh install.sh on Linux/macOS. The official Forge installer downloads the required server files.
3. Read the Minecraft EULA and accept it yourself in eula.txt if you agree.
4. Run start.bat or sh start.sh. Read README.txt for hosting and update instructions.

The supplied scripts use a 4 GB memory limit as a starting point; adjust it for your host and player count. Client and server must use the same release.

Mod information & support

The selected release determines the exact mod versions. Check its Relations/Dependencies and the mod list included in the export for the full list. Gameplay details and recipes depend on those versions.

For pack issues, leave a project comment with the modpack release, Minecraft and Java versions, the steps to reproduce the problem, and the relevant crash report or log.
