It's Just The Little Things

Before you continue I just wanna let you know from here, the beginning of the modpack description, that this modpack removes sprinting by default and handles world traversal differently. If you are not into that then you may change it in the config files, but keep in mind that this modpack was made with this system in mind and re-enabling sprinting may make the game easier as a result.

Heyo, thanks for checking out this modpack. I decided to make this simple modpack because way too often I see immense modpacks that add so much stuff and change so much of the game to the point where it's unrecognizable from minecraft (not aesthetically but mechanically). It's quite hard for me to find something simple where I can just chill with friends and do fun stuff. The goal of this modpack is to improve the things you already do in minecraft as well as add new content that adds to the core game loop we've all come to love. None of the mods in this modpack are hard to understand (exept maybe Tinker's), everything is dead simple so you can pick it up and play. Stuff like exploring caves and farming are more rewarding, and with new dimensions, lights, tools, etc. building and exploring are also encouraged.

The removal of sprinting was inspired by older versions of minecraft. Not being able to outrun mobs makes them a lot more threatening and the AI of these mobs has improved a lot since the last version that didn't have sprinting so I thought about experimenting with limiting players by removing sprint. Throughout your adventure, though, you'll find items and enchantments that will aid you massively in exploration combat and overall progression.

This modpack is very much a work in progress and I'd love to hear feedback on it. Please let me know in the comments what mods you'd like to see in this modpack, but keep in mind this is a simple modpack with exploration and a pick up and play nature so your suggestion cant be something invasive like space exploration mods or industrial stuff. Keep it simple.

For reporting bugs, please write the issues you're experiencing on pastebin and send the link in the comments, that way it'll be easier for me to differentiate between feedback and bug reports.

Additional notes

It may sound inconvenient but I recommend you play this either with shaders or with the brightness set to moody. If you want to use shaders please remember to remove Phosphor from your mods folder as it will likely cause a crash. Currently Betterfoliage conflicts with optifine. If you want to use betterfoliage with OF then downgrade to version 2.2.0 and pair it with OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_E3.

This info only applies to the old alpha versions. Beta versions do not have phosphor and come with BetterFoliage 2.2.0. You can get the desired Optifine version here. You need to install OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_E3 specifically, no other version will work.
