Description

IW SMP Season 2

IW SMP Season 2 is a massive kitchen sink modpack built for the IW SMP community around one simple idea:

Give players a giant sandbox, then get out of their way.

There is no forced quest line, no mandatory progression path, and no heavily rewritten crafting system deciding what you have to do next. The pack is built around the mechanics provided by its mods, allowing you to explore, build, automate, fight, create colonies, experiment with magic, hunt bosses, farm, collect powerful gear, or disappear into an engineering project for three days because you had an idea that got slightly out of control.

With over 400 mods, Season 2 combines technology, magic, exploration, building, combat, farming, automation, and multiplayer systems into one enormous sandbox.

⚙️ Technology & Engineering

Technology is one of the largest parts of Season 2, with multiple major tech ecosystems available instead of forcing everyone down a single progression path.

Build factories, power networks, processing facilities, trains, vehicles, automated farms, logistics networks, moving structures, weapons, and increasingly unreasonable machines with mods including:

  • Create

  • Create Aeronautics

  • Create Big Cannons

  • Create: New Age

  • Create Crafts & Additions

  • Create: Diesel Generators

  • Create: Enchantment Industry

  • Create: Numismatics

  • Create: Copycats+

  • Create: Connected

  • Mekanism

  • Mekanism Generators

  • Mekanism Tools

  • Industrial Foregoing

  • Immersive Engineering

  • Powah!

  • Flux Networks

  • Applied Energistics 2

  • ExtendedAE

  • Applied Flux

  • Pipez

  • Compact Machines

  • Functional Storage

  • Sophisticated Storage & Backpacks

  • Hostile Neural Networks

Create remains a major part of the pack, but it is far from your only option. Mekanism, Industrial Foregoing, Immersive Engineering, Applied Energistics, Powah, and numerous addons and integrations provide multiple ways to approach power, automation, logistics, storage, and resource processing.

Whether you want a little workshop behind your house or an industrial complex that requires its own zip code and several OSHA investigations, Season 2 gives you the machinery to make it happen.

🔮 Magic, Skills & Combat

Not interested in building a nuclear-powered factory?

Season 2 also has an extensive magic and combat side.

Magic, character development, and equipment systems include:

  • Ars Nouveau

  • Ars Elemental

  • Ars Additions

  • Ars Technica

  • Ars Énergistique

  • Pufferfish's Skills

  • Custom skill trees

  • Apotheosis

  • Apothic Ascension

  • Artifacts

  • Relics

  • More Relics

  • Simply Swords

  • Epic Knights

Build a mage, warrior, engineer, explorer, artifact hunter, or some deeply questionable combination of all of them.

The skill and equipment systems allow you to develop your character over time without forcing the entire server through a traditional RPG progression chain.

🏰 Colonies & Settlements

Season 2 introduces MineColonies, allowing players to go beyond building a base and start building an actual settlement.

Create and manage colonies with:

  • MineColonies

  • Structurize

  • Domum Ornamentum

  • Stylecolonies

  • TownTalk

  • Additional colony style packs

Construct homes, workshops, farms, defenses, infrastructure, and specialized buildings while managing a growing population of workers.

You can build a tiny frontier settlement, a fortified medieval city, an industrial colony powered by your technology network, or something that eventually becomes large enough that you forget where your original starter house was.

🌾 Farming, Food & Resources

For players who would rather build an agricultural empire than an industrial one, Season 2 includes expanded farming, food, and resource-production systems.

Major additions include:

  • Pam's HarvestCraft 2

  • Expanded Delight

  • Productive Bees

  • Additional farming and food integrations

Grow huge varieties of crops, establish orchards, create expanded food production, breed productive bees, and automate the whole operation if manually harvesting things starts feeling suspiciously like work.

⚔️ Exploration, Dungeons & Bosses

The world has been heavily expanded with new terrain, structures, dungeons, enemies, bosses, and places to discover.

Major exploration content includes:

  • BetterEnd

  • Terralith

  • Biomes O' Plenty

  • Oh The Biomes We've Gone

  • William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld

  • YUNG's structure and dungeon overhauls

  • Dungeon Crawl

  • Towns and Towers

  • L_Ender's Cataclysm

  • Mowzie's Mobs

  • The Graveyard

  • Repurposed Structures

  • Nature's Compass

  • Numerous additional structure and world-generation mods

Exploration is intended to remain worthwhile long after you've established a base.

Whether you're hunting bosses, searching for rare artifacts, discovering structures, collecting resources, or just looking for the perfect place to build, there should always be another reason to leave home.

Probably with a waypoint set first.

🏗️ Building & Decoration

Builders have access to a massive collection of decorative and architectural content.

The pack includes mods such as:

  • Chipped

  • Rechiseled

  • Handcrafted

  • FramedBlocks

  • Connected Glass

  • Macaw's building collections

  • Create Deco

  • Copycats+

  • Domum Ornamentum

  • Fairy Lights

  • Numerous additional furniture, decoration, and building mods

Build medieval villages, giant factories, wizard towers, underground laboratories, castles, airships, rail networks, colonies, industrial cities, or an aggressively over-engineered starter house.

The pack gives builders a huge palette without dictating what style they have to use.

🌍 Built for Multiplayer

IW SMP Season 2 is primarily designed around playing together on a server.

The pack includes multiplayer-focused systems for teams, claims, communication, storage, logistics, transportation, infrastructure, and performance.

More importantly, the enormous variety of content means players don't all need to do the same thing.

One group can build a Create factory.

Someone else can establish a MineColonies city.

Another player can dive into Mekanism.

Someone can become the server's resident mage.

Another can disappear into the wilderness hunting bosses and artifacts.

And eventually everyone can return to spawn to discover that somebody has constructed an industrial complex, three trains, an airship, a medieval kingdom, and a suspiciously large bee operation while nobody was paying attention.

🚫 No Forced Progression

This is important:

IW SMP Season 2 is not a progression or questing modpack.

There is no required order in which mods must be completed and no custom progression chain designed to lock one major mod behind another.

You are not expected to "complete" Create before starting Mekanism.

You don't need to build a factory before learning magic.

You don't need to defeat a specific boss before you're allowed to start a colony.

There is no intended correct way to play.

If you want to start with Create, start with Create.

If you want to become a mage, become a mage.

If you want to build a colony, build a colony.

If you want to automate everything, automate everything.

If you want to explore dungeons and hunt bosses, grab a weapon and disappear into the wilderness.

If you want to spend your entire playthrough building trains, breeding bees, collecting artifacts, cooking food, decorating a tavern, or constructing a machine of questionable purpose and even more questionable safety, go for it.

The pack gives you the tools.

What you do with them is up to you.
