Modpack created with applied energetic, mekanism, and create being a focus. There's also other dimensions and mods that add structures to give it a sense of adventurer while still providing quality of life.
AE2, Mekanism and create are tech mods that allow the ability to make massive factories, storage systems, and power sources.
Twilight forest & Aether are dimensions that allow you to fight different bosses to progress in their realms.
Mixing these together will allow a fun interactive experience that should cover the wants of a tech interested friend group while giving them structures & dimensions to explore.
