Welcome to he** - er, I mean, Journey Through the Abyss!

This pack is a semi-hardcore RPG modpack focused on immersion and progression! Your journey begins when you discover that a group of adventurers are looking to hire someone from your village to help with an expedition into a mysterious cavern called the abyss.

During your adventure, you will come across many deadly adversaries, ranging from mostly “harmless” killer butterflies to bosses that will take many tries to defeat. As you progress the bosses will get harder to balance what gear/weapons are available at the stage of the game the boss is encountered.

The pack uses a progression system that consists of Game Stages, KubeJS, Crafttweaker, and FTB quests that force the player to keep to the story to get through the pack. Most of the main dialogs and bosses are tied to the Quest Book so you will have to defeat the bosses to unlock the next set of mods and continue the story, don’t worry there is a custom skill tree and side quests that you can use to level up in the event you get stuck on a boss.

The progression starts off with modified terrafirmacraft but quickly starts to play like a skyblock modpack in a sense that it focuses more on automation and making your base self-sustaining, you should be able to automate pretty much everything.

As you progress you will slowly move away from TFC and eventually reach a point where even its infamous thirst and food nutrition systems become unnoticeable as you unlock vanilla variants of items and food. This might sound like blessing, however, almost every recipe has been changed to ensure the pack gets progressively harder and more complex as more mods become unlocked.

Unlike most hardcore modpacks, every progression point is set up like a puzzle, requiring players to stray from the quest book and find alternatives to getting resources versus the lazy and hard way. There are plenty of efficient recipes that either hide or unlock as you go through the world but so long as you look, you will find a solution.

The pack is divided into 20 chapters, each chapter containing its own unique challenges and milestones. With each chapter unlocked, they add more layers of difficulty and complexity, such as various kinds of mobs spawning naturally, to recipes that require redesigning your base.

After reading all that, you might think that this pack was made for experienced players, but the pack itself is structured for any kind of player, both new or old. So long as you can think outside the box, you can do wonders!

Goals

To serve as the official sequel to my other modpack Journey Beyond the Abyss.

To provide a progression system that diverges from the traditional TFC modpack progression and focuses more on automation and mass resource production/management.

To provide an RPG experience different from than that of most modpacks.

Official Run Rules

(These are the rules for streamers/youtubers who want to have their username in the description).

Do not use ender pearls or other teleportation items to phase through blocks in dungeons (shooting ender pearls through 1x1 block holes is allowed).

Do not break or place blocks in dungeons!
NOTE: It should be difficult to break rule 2 by mistake since the anti-cheat mechanisms are in place.

Do not use teleportation items to bypass anti-cheat gates, you need to be in adventure for the bosses to auto-teleport you out of the dungeon (dying in dungeons sets you back to survival).

Do not cheat by using commands or creative mode.

Do not add or remove mods (I could make exceptions for performance and shaders mods, but you must ask for permission first)!

Always use the latest available update of the modpack when progressing (when completing bosses and main quests).

Do not use any bugs/loopholes! Coming to RoyallyDawson or Austinsupercar about a bug or loophole will not invalidate your run unless abused. Unknowingly doing so will also not invalidate your run if you report it within a reasonable time.

Upload videos of your experience. Editing is allowed within reason. Message austinsupercar or RoyallyDawson on discord if you have questions.

If you complete an official run, you can show your party’s rank located in the quest book and I will put it next to your username (this one is optional).

Playing with friends is ok! However, participating players must be in the same FTB team so that the rank can be given based on the total amount of deaths of the party!

Rewards for completing an official run:

A discord role "Emperor of The Abyss".

Your username forever immortalized in the description.
