About

Description

Simply Immersive is a modpack which aims to be just that: simply immersive.

There are no tedious recipes, drawn-out questlines, or overpowered endgame do-it-alls. This pack adds balanced and cohesive content for those seeking to experience modded Minecraft's essentials without overwriting the game's core. To be clear, this is not a vanilla plus pack; there is power generation, space exploration, and new threats to boot, but that doesn't mean it abandons vanilla principles. Simply Immersive does not rely on forced progression; like the base game, it is up to the player to find purpose in their world, with the mods providing more tools and backdrops to do so.

Want to build an epic sci-fi space base? Want to automate the production of your favourite food? Want to gear up to face new threats? Then this is the pack for you.

However, if you want to mass-produce millions of items, play 100 hours before you craft your first stick, or follow a long and structured progression, then I would politely suggest that your interests might better be served elsewhere.

Simply Immersive makes a great singleplayer project, but it has also been designed with multiplayer in mind. This pack has roles for every type of player, and it is especially friendly to those new to modded Minecraft. There are no overlapping items or functionalities, and vanilla is mostly unaffected for anyone looking to stick to familiar sights as they get started. Moreover, there are over 150 simple quests to guide you through the pack. Completing these quests does not equate to completing the pack, they merely provide insight into how to obtain all of the tools you can use to shape your world.

Every mod in the pack has been chosen carefully, such that each is a unique component of a cohesive whole. No one mod should overpower the other. Together, the world they create is simply immersive.

IMPORTANT!

strongly recommend the use of OptiFine with this pack. It improves performance significantly and provides helpful features such as zoom and dynamic lights (make sure "Render Regions" is disabled to avoid conflicts with other mods).

Please download OptiFine HD U G5 for Minecraft 1.12.2 from here and place it in the "mods" folder.

If you insist on playing without OptiFine, navigate to the "config" folder and edit the "opticheck.cfg" file. Set "I:mode" equal to "0". Note that this is not the intended way to play the pack.

Feedback

Please submit any issues or feedback related to the modpack in the comments. I can't promise to fix everything or make the changes you suggest but I take the quality of this pack seriously and will endeavour to do what I can to improve the experience.

Resourcepack

I have compiled a mod patch for PureBDcraft 64x for Simply Immersive using community textures.

1. You will have to install the base pack from here (make sure to select 64x).

Personally, I dislike the transition textures added by this pack, so I would recommend deleting the "assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/ctm/transitions" folder. This is not necessary, however.

2. Then install my patch from here.

3. Place both packs in the "resourcepacks" folder. Then, in game, go into the "Resourcepacks" menu and enable both packs, making sure the patch is above the base pack.
