Ah, gather ‘round, traveler, and let me weave you a story.

Once, there was a world overflowing with wonders — rich lands, strange beasts, and treasures beyond count. But as with all good things, the peace could not last. The gods quarreled, and their quarrel became war. A war so fierce it swept most of humankind from the face of the earth.

Desperate to survive, mortals struck a bargain with the gods. Each was to fuse their very being with something — a beast, a spirit, an element, whatever they believed would grant them the strength to endure. They agreed… but the gods, sly as ever, took their memories and cast them into a deep, timeless slumber.

Meanwhile, the war raged on between gods and titans, until even the God-Titan of Time was bound in the depths of Tartarus, imprisoned for eternity.

Thousands of years passed. Then, the gods decided it was time to wake the mortals. The cities they had once built? Gone — swept away so the realm could heal from the scars of that divine war. The land itself had shattered, broken into many strange and distant realms.

Ah, and I should mention — some among those mortals were demigods. You’ll meet them soon enough. They aided the gods in the war, but afterward… they too chose the mortal bargain. The gods told them, “It’s your choice — but remember, there’s no going back.”
