About
Description
The Mad Doctors Labworks is a small-ish modpack targetted towards players new to modded Minecraft or for more experienced players looking to get an "expansion" feel to the base game. It aims to be as lightweight as possible so that it can run on clients with 4GB of allocated RAM.
The pack focuses on being friendly to players new to modding and avoids overwhelming them with giant tech mods, offering a small handful of well-balanced tech mods in Create, Immersive Engineering, and Oritech, and their addons.
This should provide a friendly way for new players to get involved with mods by choosing which ones they want to engage with individually, rather than needing parallel progression. Exploration is also enriched with new equipment, varied challenge levels of combat, and tons of new rewards to find. Combined with a variety of quality-of-life mods, the pack provides an approachable intro to modded Minecraft. As they progress, even new-to-modding players should find plenty of mods they can engage with and a whole variety of new options to create builds unlike anything they've been able to create before.
For more experienced modded players, the pack provides an opportunity to engage in a more balanced environment than the more common "kitchen sink" packs. The included tech mods are included specifically because of the way they feel like expansions on vanilla play, rather than invalidating the base game completely with overpowered equipment and convoluted systems.
A quick overview of some of the main mods currently featured in the pack:
- Create (with several addons)
- Immersive Engineering
- Oritech
- Applied Energistics 2
- Refined Storage
- Sophisticated Storage & Backpacks
- Railcraft Reborn
- Silent Gear
- Apotheosis
- Productive Bees
- Cooking/Farming for Blockheads
- Farmer's Delight
