Description
Magic - Progressive
Built around Ars Nouveau, and the set of mods surrounding it (Ars Omega, Ars Creo, Ars Elemental, Ars Scalaes, etc), as well as some quality of life mods, expansions, and optimizations, Magic - Progressive hopes to bring a little magic to your mostly vanilla Minecraft experience.
In the name of transparency, and open communication, I will now list every mod included, as well as the reasons it was included / what it adds.
Mods Included:
- AI Improvements - Optimizes mob AI predominantly for servers.
- AppleSkin - Expands the hunger, saturation, and HP bars to include ease of use functionality (like telling you how much saturation you have, or how much healing you will get from eating a food, etc).
- Architectury API - Bridges Fabric and Forge APIs, creating an abstraction layer between mods and both Fabric and Forge calls. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Ars Arsenal - Adds armours and a new alloy in the theme of and building on Ars Nouveau.
Ars Creo - Expands Ars Nouveau, adding spell turrets, and bridging Create and Ars Nouveau.Removed in 1.1.0 because Create was removed- Ars Elemental - Expands Ars Nouveau, adding new magic mobs, more glyphs, and some tweaks.
- Ars Instrumentum - Adds extra content to Ars Nouveau (mostly useless, but some of it is good).
- Ars Nouveau - Adds spell crafting, spell automation, rituals, new crops, new mobs, and new equipment. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Ars Omega - Adds a new tier of content to Ars Nouveau (Tier 4 spell book and glyphs), a new dimension (some demon place, not super thrilled about it), and a bunch of glyphs (yeah, that is what I wanted).
- Ars Scalaes - Bridges between PMMO and Ars Nouveau, adding magic level progression scaling, as well as adding some other functionality (some glyphs and other small changes).
- AutoRegLib - Does some modder backend API stuff, not even sure I need this, but it is here now. *other mods in the pack may use this
- Bad Mobs - Should be called no creepers, cus that is why I have it. Lets you selectively control the spawning of individual mobs (including all mod mobs).
- Balm (Forge) - API mod for modders *other mods in the pack may use this
- BlockUI - UI management system, adds easier support for constructing custom UI based on XML in Minecraft. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Caelus API (Forge) - Abstracts Elytra flight turning it into a general purpose flight ability that can be implemented from other sources than just Elytra. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Carry On - Crouch with empty hands and carry a filled chest around (its great!).
Chipped - Just mmm. Adds a bunch of new variants of A LOT of blocks.Removed in 1.2.0 in an attempt to reduce server connection times (and timeouts)- Cloth Config API (Fabric/Forge) - Adds config screen API that makes it easier for modders to make config screens. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Clumps - Clumps XP orbs together (honestly already thought the game did this), optimizes xp orbs, increases xp orb pickup radius.
- Comfort (Forge) - Adds hammocks and sleeping bags.
- Connected Glass - Adds glass variants that connect together to create large discrete appearing walls of glass. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- ConnectedTexturesMod - Adds support for connecting textures together across blocks. *other mods in the pack may use this
- Controlling - Adds searching to the keybindings screen, increases the ease of use of keybindings (several mods add keybindings, useful if the keybindings system is easy to use).
- Cosmetic Armor Reworked - Adds cosmetic armour slots which can be used to override or hide the appearance of armour.
Create - Adds automation in a steampunk themed way. *other mods in the pack make use of thisRemoved in 1.1.0 to reduce server connection times- Curios API (Forge) - Adds flexible and expandable equipment functionality, like new custom equipment slots (rings, belts, etc). *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Elytra Slot (Forge) - Modifies the Elytra and adds a slot via Curios API for your back, allowing the wearing of armour at the same time as the elytra.
- Entity Culling Fabric/Forge - Culls entities hiding behind objects (optimization).
- Farmer's Delight - Adds new crops, foods, materials, and stuff.
Farsight [Forge] - Caches chunks on clients to 'expand' the viewable distance beyond the server render limit.Removed in 1.2.0 because it doesn't appear to do anything (at least with shader packs via Oculus)- Fast Leaf Decay - Leaves begone. Your tree is gone, you should go too.
- FerriteCore (Forge) - Increases Minecraft memory efficiency.
- Flywheel - Expands the Minecraft render system (adds instancing) *other mods in the pack make use of this
- GeckoLib - Animation library. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Goblin Traders - Adds lovely little goblins you can find underground and in the nether that will make weird trades (like giving you 2:1 Iron Ingots for Raw Iron)
- Guns without Roses - Adds guns (with progression), and bullets (with progression).
- Just Enough Items (JEI) - Adds easier, and programmatic, support for mod recipes, and inventory management (makes it much easier to see up to date recipes for items in mods than their often poorly maintained in game documentation, if they even have that).
- Kotlin for Forge - Adds support for the Kotlin language to Minecraft via Forge. *other mods in the pack make use of this
Mod Name Tooltip - Useful for modders, identifies what mod adds a given item via its tooltip.Removed in 1.2.0 because another mod (probably JEI) tells the same information- Moonlight Lib - Expands Minecraft and Forge functionality, namely with fluids, blocks, AI, maps, animations, and a variety of utilities. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Observable - Adds functionality for tracking which entities are taking up the most processor time.
- Oculus - Nope, not VR, even better, shader support!
- PAUCAL - This mod tells me almost nothing about what it does, besides 'utilities' and head patting... *other mods in the pack may use this
- Patchouli - Adds data-driven documentation in the form of in game books mod makers can easily generate. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Pehkui - Allows mobs scale to change. *other mods in the pack make use of this

- Structure Gel API - Makes creating custom structures easier (think dungeons / buildings). *other mods in the pack make use of this
- Supplementaries - Adds a wide variety of new content expanding on the vanilla experience, while trying to remain true to the vanilla experience. Vanilla+
- TimeoutFixes - Makes the server much more lenient with server timeouts (for heavily modded servers).
- Titanium - API library, doesn't say much about what it does. *other mods in the pack may use this
- Too Many Glyphs - Yes, yes, yes! The name says it all, more glyphs for Ars Nouveau spells.
- Torchmaster - Adds torches that prevent selective mobs from spawning in given areas.
- TrashSlot - Inventory management just got a lot easier with the new and improved garbage slot (brought to you by like every other inventory management game every).
- YUNG's API (Forge) - API Library required by the other YUNG mods. *other mods in the pack make use of this
- YUNG's Better Desert Temples (Forge) - Changes Desert Temples, makes them larger, and more polished, essentially if the Minecraft developers actually loved the content they add.
- YUNG's Better Dungeons (Forge) - Like Better Desert Temples, this improves the Dungeons changing them from a single barren room repeated all over the world into dynamic procedural dungeon spaces. (Again, Minecraft devs... please.)
- YUNG's Better Mineshafts (Forge) - Probably getting the idea by now, makes mineshafts nicer, adds variants (Mushroom Mineshaft, Icy Mineshaft, etc)
- YUNG's Better Strongholds (Forge) - Overhauls the look and feel of strongholds while retaining the vanilla intent (again, its just the Stronghold if it had been loved by someone when it was made)
- YUNG's Better Witch Huts (Forge) - Improves the look and feel of Witch huts.
- YUNG's Bridges (Forge) - Adds a variety of adorable bridges across rivers and between islands.
- YUNG's Extras (Forge) - Speckles the map with obelisks, ruins, and other little fragments of former civilizations (in theme with the rest of the vanilla, post civilization collapse vibe).
