About

Description

You're gonna die a lot... in the beginning.

Magic'n'machinery is an expansive modpack that expands on the core RLcraft with many of the mainline mods being present here as well. Where it deviates from its predecessor is the randomness, powerful things are made more expensive in order to push them into the late game and the more traditional Minecraft grind takes the point of main resource acquisition back from the dungeons and battle towers. This modpack also provides more tools to conquer your enemies with as well as more challenges for you to use them on.

What's in this thing, then?

Game version

For one, this modpack runs on a newer version of MC (1.16.5: The Nether update) which brings the addition of netherite and Piglins.

Progression

The levels are GONE. In their place, the materials take an important role in progression. Much like the vanilla experience but with a fresh coat of modular paint thanks to the Tetra mod.

Cogs and belts galore!

Create is here. I don't think I need to say anything else here at this point, everybody knows what this is now and if you don't... let me tell ya, you're in for one hell of a time!

Learn to spell

Have you ever played Noita? Have you ever wanted to play Noita... in Minecraft? Well, thanks to the mod Mana and artifice, you now can! Modular spell creation, wizardly drip, and forbidden knowledge await you.

Dimensions
"RLcraft with Twilight forest would be sick." -Sneegsnag

Yes Sneeg, yes it is. You can also travel to the Undergarden. Nether travel was also reworked, requiring you to find a nether fissure in the depths of the earth. The Overworld now acts as more of a hub for dimension travel, allowing you to travel to any dimension in any order and even smacking the Wither without stepping into the pit of hell once, in great part thanks to the classic RLcraft staple: Lycanites mobs.

Tips for if you get lost

1. Check advancements, there's a lot of good info hiding in there.

2. Tools above stone cannot be crafted regularly but they instead require the use of the Tetra mod. Make a hammer out of wood or stone and smack a workbench to proceed. Then refer to tip number one.

3. Some crafting recipes and especially magical rituals call for regular vanilla tools which you can't craft in the workbench. What you can do however is to convert the modular Tetra tools into the classic vanilla ones. Refer to the JEI to see the required modules.

4. Use JEI. For those that don't know, you can search your inventory for all possible crafting recipes. Left-click an item in the JEI menu to see how to craft it or right-click for all uses of the item.
