About
Description
A cozy modpack focused on a friendly, rustic, vanilla-esque experience.
The guiding principles of this modpack are:
- Stability and compatibility
- Player agency
- Cozy and rustic environment
- Approachable, experience-first interaction
- Absolute beauty in the world and interactions.
Every player starts in the starter house, a safe place from which they can explore and branch out to the rest of the world. This slows the early game urgency to encourage taking time to learn and grow at your own pace, explore at your own discretion.
Every player also starts with a full complement of basics to explore with, including an empty Map Atlas, a Book and Quill, their trusty Field Guide, a Spyglass, a pencil to sketch in their book, and a compass so that they can always find their way home to spawn.
Allowing maximal player choice, everyone has their own pursuits they can follow, and the world is full of things to explore, discover, and learn about.
The core mods of this modpack are some familiar names for many players.
The world is shaped by ancient forces, such as Terralith, No Man's Land, and Biolith, which largely don't have bearing on the daily life of the players, except when they find themselves in exceptional danger and are Hauled to Hearth.
From Create, players can learn to craft whole factories of machines, automating as much or as little as they crave. They can even throw their diving gear into their Sophisticated Backpack and swap it out for a Jetpack in the dedicated Curios slot.
From Hexerei, players can lean into their witchy side, finding unique solutions for many of the challenges they may face. Maybe they'll tame a small army of crows to help with the harvest, or take to the skies on a broom carved from whichever willow they please. (A certain overly fussy MCFE Arborist, hi, that's us, made sure Goat, Weeping, and Peach Leaf Willows all answer to their proper names and work in any recipe that wants a willow.) Maybe they'll use a mysterious heart to craft a Mermod necklace, help build the Nature's Aura, or collect Hexalia herbs.
For the more laid back, the Farmer's Delight may be their own. They may find Bountiful Fares in their Hearth and Harvest, then dig clay from the riverbank and fire it into something worthy of the table with Loam & Vessel. Before long they'll be able to sit down at the wheel and try their hand at Spinning, too (our next homegrown mod, not out just yet!). Maybe they'll enjoy hitching a ride on a chicken for a quick trip down hills! Or perhaps Redomesticate a dolphin to traverse the seas. Or just get back to their Roots and tame some Alex's Mobs.
Find the call of exploration too strong for any of those? Find Comforts and pitch your SimplyTents wherever will be home for tonight, ride your Small Ships to exotic new lands where the shallows teem with life that runs wild and Hybrid. Out on the road, the world's Fauna & Orchestra play together, with travelling musicians always glad of an audience and an inn's warm light never too far off. Don't forget the Joy of Painting or Even More Instruments so you can sit in with the band, entertain your new Ribbit friends, and your old IRL friends. Warn buddies of enemies by marking with Chalk during your Spelunker's Charm, or make a Handcrafted marker of your own design.
The world may seem empty, but under the surface the land is riddled with YUNG's Better Mineshafts, and one may have the good fortune of finding the rare structures and ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Villages of the world.
And when the most adventurous finally step through to the End, they'll find YUNG's Better End Island tended by the caretakers of MCFEnd Island (also us, we couldn't help ourselves). The dragon only answers when you ring for it, the fight is yours to repeat or skip entirely, and the island tidies itself back up after every visit.
Difficulty is scaled with Adaptive Difficulty. Players can enjoy exploring peacefully or the challenge of playing on Hard mode while their friend nearby picks Serene Shrubbery or embarks upon a Mushroom Quest, unperturbed.
The current state of this pack is OPEN BETA, with updates rolling out weekly.
Full release: October 23rd.
On the workbench right now:
- Improving gameplay flow.
- Implementing a questing system which ties together the odd pocket-case mods added for a kiddo.
- Only one more mod, now… >>
