Description
-- Modpack Goal --
This mod pack is designed to be a vanilla+ pack, adding simple features that bring the game to life. You will still mine and craft, and build fun structures, but on a new level.
I aimed to give the feeling of playing Minecraft for the first time again: having lots of beautiful landscapes to explore and lots of fun mechanisms to build, without overcomplicating things.
The intention of this mod pack is to be used by me and my friends in a casual roleplay server, building fun things and exploring the world.
-- Player Setup --
Resource packs & shaders:
Apply all resource packs (except for programmer art), apply the shader pack, and set the proper render distance for Distant Horizons (all options are in settings).
Keybindings:
Your keybindings should already be set to avoid conflicts. You can change them if needed.
Additonal setup options:
Press 'F3 + H' to enable advanced tooltips (durability, etc).
Gamerule commands:
'playersSleepingPercentage 25'
'mobGriefing false'
'disableElytraMovementCheck true'
'randomTickSpeed 9' (you can turn this up higher for a faster tick speed)
Other controls:
Emote: Emote with '\'.
Sort Inventory: 'Ctrl + S'.
CarryOn: 'Shift + Right Click' with an empty hand to pick up entities.
Spyglass Astronomy: Zoom in with 'Z', use the 'Pick Block' button (default is clicking the scroll wheel), then left click on a star to name it! You can also draw constellations.
Building Wands: Press 'Y' to open the menu, and select 'Place' & 'Area' to begin.
Gravestones: If you lose a grave, use the '/graves recover' command to recover it.
Cobblemon: Use 'Ctrl + M' to open the menu.
Visual preferences:
I like to turn fog off in the shader pack atmosphere settings, & also turn clouds off in the shader pack performance settings.
Distant Horizons & Space Dimensions: While on other planets, you may want to turn Distant Horizons off until you return to Earth.
-- Server Setup --
Use the Fabric server installer, and set up the server (https://fabricmc.net/use/server/).
The server pack wouldn't upload for some reason, so for the mods, just copy over all mods from your instance of the modpack into your server mods folder. It works fine for me when I do that.
Then set up your start.bat file & add the specified RAM (details in fabric the link above), and you're ready to go!
-- Future Updates --
Whenever the modpack is updated to minecraft version 1.21.2, I want to use the gamerule 'minecartMaxSpeed 1000'.
I wanted to include the 'Immersive Portals' mod, but there were conflicts.
I wanted to include the 'Ice and Fire' mod as well, but it caused the server to lag.
