About

Description

MineSnap

MineSnap was built around a very specific idea: giving players a tangible, heavily integrated reason to explore. We wanted a pack where building a massive Create airship isn't just something you do because it looks cool, but because you actually need it to accomplish your goals. Instead of rushing for overpowered gear and sitting in a base forever, your objective is to travel the world, survive extreme environments, and document everything you find.

A Completely Custom Photography System

The beating heart of this pack is a massive, bespoke bestiary that goes completely beyond normal modded Minecraft.

  • Custom Quest Integration: We wrote extensive custom scripts tying the Exposure camera mod directly into the FTB Quests progression. You can't just kill a mob to check it off. You must load your camera with film, snap a picture in the wild, develop it in a darkroom, and physically hold the printed photograph to log your discovery.
  • The Ultimate Bestiary: Track down and photograph almost 200 different creatures across vanilla, Alex's MobsAlex's CavesMowzie's Mobs, and L_Ender's Cataclysm.
  • Endgame Trophies: Finishing a chapter doesn't just give you a pat on the back. We coded custom items for each dimension and mod category, culminating in an ultimate craftable trophy: The Master's Lens, which grants special abilities to aid in tracking down rare spawns.
  • Quality of Life: Because developing color film takes a lot of resources, we wrote custom, balanced KubeJS alchemy recipes to easily duplicate and craft the necessary dyes.

A World Built for Airships

If you are going to track down every creature in existence, walking isn't going to cut it.

  • Vast Distances: Powered by Terralith with the world generation explicitly forced to Large Biomes, the map is staggeringly huge. Oceans, deserts, and mountain ranges are massive, forcing you to think about logistics.
  • Create Aeronautics: Because the world is so vast, you are actively encouraged to engineer fully functional, pilotable airships to cross the skies. Build a mobile base, load it up with supplies, and take off.
  • Diegetic Navigation: No floating minimaps or magic waypoints. You chart your flight paths and mark wildlife sightings physically using an Antique Atlas.

Meaningful Expedition Survival

Leaving your base for a multi-day photography expedition requires actual prep work. You can't just fly into the unknown empty-handed.

  • Environmental Hazards: With Cold Sweat installed, you can't just fly a wooden ship into a blizzard or a scorching desert without preparing. You need to dress appropriately, build insulated shelters, and manage your temperature while waiting for that perfect shot.
  • Expedition Logistics: Stock up your Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage barrels with extra film, camera filters, flashes, and spare parts before setting off.
  • Field Rations: Cook up hearty, long-lasting meals with Farmer's Delight to keep you fed on long flights away from home.

Note: This pack relies heavily on custom scripts to glue these mechanics together into a smooth experience. We are incredibly proud of how the photography mechanics feel and hope it gives you the ultimate excuse to build the airship of your dreams!
