Just know that adding crate add-ons such as radar, cannons and bullets will cause a crash 

that otherwise you get an error before the Minecraft launcher can even load the game 

 This mod pack works but you must launch it from the curse forge launcher and not the MC launcher.otherwise you get an error before the Minecraft launcher can even load the game 

If the MC launcher opens after hitting play in curse forge you launched it through MC launcher 

SO HERE IS HOW TO FIX

OPEN SETTINGS: Click the Settings cog icon located in the bottom-left corner of the CurseForge app.Navigate to Minecraft: Select the Minecraft tab from the left-hand menu.

CHANGE LAUNCHER SETTINGS: Scroll down to the Launcher Settings section.Enable Skip Feature: Select the option labeled "Use CurseForge launcher" (this may also be phrased as "Skip launcher with CurseForge" in newer versions).

AUTHENTICATE: A Log in button will appear. You must log in with your Microsoft/Minecraft account and authorize CurseForge to handle the launch.

CONFIRM LOGIN: Once logged in, your username will replace the login button, and your modpacks will now launch directly into the game
