This modpack replaces the rendering engine with Vulkan, which is more efficient than both OpenGL or Sodium on modern hardware. Along with extra optimizations.

About

Description

This modpack aims to increase performance by replacing Minecraft's laughably inefficient rendering engine, OpenGL, with a more modern approach: Vulkan. This can increase your performance by upwards of 100% depending on your hardware, especially when paired with other popular optimization mods like Lithium!

  • Although Vulkan IS coming to Java Edition natively, VulkanMod is still far better than native Vulkan as of right now especially when paired with a suite of 20+ performance mods and small QoL tweaks like 3D Skin Layers, Zoomify, Chat Heads, and Chat Animations.

Performance Results (Based on my hardware configuration):

  • 920 FPS without More Vulkan (and not as stable)
  • 2000+ FPS with More Vulkan (and it is much more stable)

These results were achieved on a setup featuring an RTX 5060, Intel Core Ultra 5 225F, and 6GB of RAM allocated to Minecraft. Tested on Windows 11 with Nvidia drivers 596.21.
