New.World is a Forge 1.20.1 modpack inspired by Alpha Minecraft, but with modern horror hidden beneath the surface. Designed for atmospheric exploration, it blends nostalgia with subtle dread.
Designed to be spooky or terrifying, often including dark environments, scary monsters, and survival horror mechanics.
Reminiscent of older video games and Minecraft versions, often using old textures and mechanics.
Includes a large focus on traversing worlds with enhanced world generation, structures, dungeons, and more for players to find unique loot.
Contains handmade maps or world presets with adventure map features. Typically features highly detailed builds of larger scales than seen in procedural world generation.
Includes a structured narrative with plot progression and story-driven gameplay elements.
Includes a custom backstory, written world-building, or narrative writing within the project or through external content.
Not intended for multiplayer: does not support dedicated servers, lacks a server pack, or is known to break in multiplayer.
Forge is a popular mod loader for versions 1.1+ of Minecraft.

New.World
Version: 1.0 – Alpha Revival with a Hidden Glitch
Forge 1.20.1 | Singleplayer Recommended
New.World recreates the feeling of Minecraft Alpha—but something’s... not right.
Built on a foundation of visual simplicity, haunting sound design, and eerie behavior, this modpack uses modern tools to reimagine early Minecraft with an unsettling twist. You’ll explore a seemingly normal world made of familiar blocks and mechanics, but strange visual bugs, unnatural AI, and broken logic gradually infect your experience.
Designed for solo play, New.World uses retro animations, classic sound packs, and subtle horror effects to give you that "first time playing Minecraft again" feeling—with the creeping realization that something else is sharing the world with you.
🔧 Key Features:
-
Alpha Visuals & Sounds – Resource packs like Alphish and Kattiox’s Alpha Sound Pack pull you back to 2010.
-
Enhanced AI & Animations – Mobs behave strangely. Some don't even attack—just watch.
-
Subtle Horror Mods – In Your World and Drip Sounds suggest someone else is nearby.
-
Clean UI & Configs – Everything works out of the box with modern performance mods and optimization.
-
You can’t escape through the menu.
(Try. See what happens.)
✍️ Story
You’re 12.
You finally got Minecraft after your friend told you it was amazing.
Your PC is barely good enough, but it works.
You boot it up. There’s no music.
The menu is gray. The version just says “New.World”.
You spawn in a quiet field. Trees don’t sway. Mobs don’t move right.
Sounds echo longer than they should.
There’s a castle in the distance. You go to it.
Someone logs in.
But it’s singleplayer.
You try to quit. The button doesn’t work.
Your friend said this was just like the old Minecraft.
You’re starting to think they lied.
