A modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 containing various technological and scientific mods. It is a modern spiritual successor to the original Voltz 1.4.7 modpack.

Why make Neutron?

I was sitting in my high school cafeteria when I read online how nuclear fusion has been '30 years away' for nearly 50 years now. Thinking back to the fusion reactors I constructed in Voltz, it made me bitter to think that I'd likely never receive electricity generated from a fusion power plant in my lifetime.

Though that may still be the case, the news that the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory had achieved ignition on December 5th, 2022 had me running around my house shouting with excitement. To celebrate the occasion, I vowed to create a modpack to recapture the discovery I once had playing Voltz for other red matter veterans and new scientifically inquisitive players.

Why start development now?

Neutron has been in development behind the scenes for quite some time. It started as a project for my close friends but shifted towards being a spiritual successor to Voltz as time went on. As with most creators on these platforms, life got in the way too (college education, home–buying and renovating, career–path changes, etc).

I have recently found more time to develop Neutron and I will continue to work toward an official release. Custom mods are planned to be added in the future as well. I'm looking forward to providing others with an explosive multiplayer modded Minecraft experience!

I have not spent time reading other licenses, but I understand it is always easier/recommended to restrict access and grant it down the line rather than vice versa. As is, Neutron is NOT a finished product, but I hereby grant others the ability to download the modpack to play and record; mentioning myself, TheAutomaton, is always a plus! Further declarations and specifics will come in time.
