The overall experience is intended to be as true to vanilla as possible but with a few Quality of life improvements with some lightweight mods.
Apple Skin - Gives you some nutritional information on tooltips and how much satiety you currently have using your hunger bar ui element.

Inventory sorter - condense and sort items with this client side mod
Iron chest - slightly better storage capacity at the expense of rare metals. (Encourage mining!)
JEI - A visual recipe book when you open your inventory.

Simple storage network - A way to network all of your chests. Can push/pull resources and a great introduction to modded storage solutions without having to introduce power mods.
