Description
This modpack is meant to be played as part of a challenge, something like "Surviving 100 Days" or lasting until rescue. The mods have been carefully selected to make it feel like you're desperately trying to survive a zombie apocalypse.
Mod List:
3rd Life - I feel like allowing players to die as many times as possible ruins any tension, but on the other hand, I feel that hardcore for any modpack is a tad too harsh. Because of this, I've added this mod so that players only have 3 lives. I will update this modpack once this mod allows you to move the hearts display.
Antique Atlas - Adds in an atlas to keep track of locations and places. I thought it'd be handy for marking down a place you'd want to check back on later.
AppleSkin - So you can see your saturation and see the stats of foods in the modpack.
Bad Mobs - Tweaks mob spawning
Back Tools - Looks cool. May remove if it has problems with 3d items.
Bountiful - My replacement for the inability to allow spawners to drop loot. Plus, it's nice having a small goal.
Chat Heads (Forge) - Adds player heads next to messages in chat.
Chunk Animator - Because I don't see myself flying during a playthrough of this pack, I thought it'd be neat to see the chunks rising up in the distance as they load.
Cloth Config - Soft dependency for Dynamic Surroundings.
Collective - Dependency for Starter Kit and Villager Names.
Comforts - I always liked the concept of sleeping bags.
Corpse - Wanted a better way to loot bodies. Plus, it looks cool.
Craftable Horse Armour & Saddle [CHA&S] - Faster and easier transportation.
CraftTweaker - To fix an issue with Realistic Torches.
Creative Core - Dependency for ItemPhysics Full.
Dungeon Crawl - Adds some underground exploration, and I felt that this has the right feeling to it.
Dynamic Surroundings - What can I say? I like this mod a lot. Especially the sword swings.
Enchanted Book Redesign - Self explanatory. May remove if I ever add a mod that adds extra enchantments.
Enhanced Celestials - If you're going to be doing a survival challenge, it's nice to have some lightweight events.
FerriteCore - For memory.
GeckoLib - Dependency for Mimics.
Guard Villagers - I wanted villages to be a sort of safe place, but I was hesitant to add this mod. But it adds a lot of functionality, it's really well made, and the guard villagers actually put up a good fight against zombies. Plus, it's compatible with Villager Names.
Healing Campfire - To make it feel like you're really trying to survive.
Improved Mobs - Tweaks hostile mobs to make them harder.
ItemPhysics Full - I like this mod way too much.
JEITweaker - CraftTweaker support for JEI.
Just Another Rotten Flesh Mod - To make leather more accessible.
Just Enough Items (JEI) - Always nice to have. However, I understand some don't like this, so if you decide to delete this, make sure to delete Just Enough Professions (JEP) as well.
Just Enough Professions (JEP) - So you can see villagers and their workstations in JEI.
Kotlin for Forge - Dependency for Bountiful
Lost Cities - I recommend using the "rarecities" preset.
Mimic - Maybe this wasn't the best idea. Oh well.
Mob Suncreen - Prevents mobs from burning in the sun. Really makes it feel like there's an apocalypse 24/7.
Not Enough Animations - I cannot live without the Bedrock eating animation.
Optifine - Shaders recommended!
Performant - For performance.
Public GUI Announcement - Looks cool!
Rare Ice - Really nice addition, I think, and if you ever find some of this loot, it'll help you a LOT!
Realistic Torches - To deter players from hiding in caves. They WILL find you.
Regrowth - Adds some ambience to villages, as well as letting zombies take out light sources.
Scaling Health - Note that while mob attacks will increase in strength, their hp won't.
Serene Seasons - It looks nice, and it'll make you freeze to death!
Silent Lib (silentlib) - Dependency for Scaling Health.
SlimyBoyos - A small easter egg if you ever find slimes.
Sophisticated Backpacks - Good looking, simple backpacks.
Spartan Shields - NETHERITE SHIELD WHOO-HOO!!!!
Spartan Weaponry - A great weapon overhaul. I love the aspect of choosing what sword fits you, and when resources are short, every ingot used counts.
Spawner Bug Fix - To prevent lag from spawners created by Lost Cities and Dungeon Crawl.
Starter Kit - My setup is: A set of snow clothes, a set of desert clothes, a stone sword, an empty antique atlas, a crude wooden shield, a filled canteen, and 5 pieces of bread. The snow and desert clothes are so that you don't immediately freeze in the harsh climates of the Survival Overhaul mod.
Survival Overhaul - You'll hate me for including temperature.
Swing Through Grass - Last thing you want is death by grass.
TenshiLib - Dependency for Improved Mobs.
Tough As Nails - The 1.16 version currently only adds thirst. MAKE SURE TO ENABLE HAND DRINKING IN THE serverconfig OF YOUR WORLD.
TRansliterationLib - Dependency for Not Enough Animations
Two Players One Horse - WE RIDE AT DAWN!
UNDEAD - More specialized zombies, making biome-based "mutations".
Villager Names - A small mod that gives a bit of humanity to villages. Like I said before, I want villages to be a safe haven worth protecting.
Zombie Extreme - The core mod. It feels like an entire modpack of its own.
