This modpack is intended as a low-end optimization configuration based on the author's testing environment. Performance, stability, and compatibility may vary significantly depending on hardware, graphics drivers, Java version, launcher configuration, resource packs, mods, and server conditions.

The results described on this page are based primarily on testing with the hardware listed in the Test Environment section and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of performance or stability on other systems.

You understand and agree that you assume all risks associated with the use of this work. In rare cases, this work may be incompatible with specific hardware or software environments and may result in abnormal resource usage, crashes, or performance fluctuations.

🎯 Who Is This Pack For?

This pack is intended for players who:

  • Have 4GB RAM or less
  • Use Intel integrated graphics or similar low-end integrated graphics
  • Play Minecraft 1.8.9 multiplayer/PvP
  • Experience performance issues, crashes, or long loading times
  • Have already tried basic optimization settings but still experience instability
  • Want to continue using older or low-end hardware for Minecraft

The pack was primarily developed and tested with Hypixel Bed Wars in mind.

✅ What Does This Pack Do?

The pack combines several lightweight configuration changes and mods intended to reduce resource usage and improve the overall experience on low-end hardware.

Memory and JVM configuration

The included JVM recommendations are intended to keep Java's memory usage within a range that is more practical for low-memory systems.

The pack also disables Minecraft skin downloading through a JVM property. On the author's test system, reducing unnecessary background activity helped with the limited native-thread and memory resources available to the 32-bit environment.

Resource-pack handling

The pack recommends avoiding resource-pack changes while the game is running.

On the author's test system, texture reloads were associated with graphics-driver and OpenGL errors. Avoiding unnecessary full texture reloads may therefore improve stability on some older integrated graphics configurations.

Mod selection

The included mods were selected based on compatibility and testing on the target low-end environment.

Several additional mods are provided but disabled by default because they may add overhead or introduce compatibility issues on very low-end systems.

Mouse Tweaks

Mouse Tweaks is included to provide convenient mouse-based item movement and inventory interactions.

📦 Included Mods (Default Enabled)

Mod Version Purpose Status
OptiFine HD_U_M5 Rendering and graphics optimization Manually add (not bundled)
AutoGG Reimagined 1.2.1 Automatic GG messages ✅ Enabled
EvergreenHUD 2.1.7 Custom HUD information ✅ Enabled
Mouse Tweaks 2.6.2 Improved inventory interactions ✅ Enabled
OneConfig 0.2.2-alpha228 Configuration framework for Polyfrost mods ✅ Enabled
PolyBlur 1.0.2 Blur effects ✅ Enabled
PolyCrosshair 1.0.3 Customizable crosshair ✅ Enabled
PolySprint 1.0.2 Sprint assistance ✅ Enabled
RawInput 1.1 Raw mouse input ✅ Enabled
Velox Caelo 1.1.0 Performance-related optimizations ✅ Enabled

🔒 Optional Mods (Disabled by Default – .disabled)

Mod Version Purpose Status
Chatting 2.0.6 Chat enhancements ⛔ Disabled
CrashPatch 2.0.2 Additional crash information ⛔ Disabled
PolyPatcher 1.10.3 Additional performance fixes ⛔ Disabled

Why disabled? These mods were left disabled in the default configuration because they may introduce additional overhead or compatibility issues on very low-end systems. Advanced users can enable them by removing the .disabled extension, but compatibility and performance may vary.

⚙️ JVM Arguments

The following JVM arguments are recommended for the low-memory configuration:

-Xmx768m -Xss512k -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -Dminecraft.skin.download.disabled=true -Djava.awt.headless=true -Dorg.lwjgl.opengl.Display.allowSoftwareOpenGL=true

The recommended heap size is based on the target low-memory configuration. Systems with more available RAM may be able to use a larger heap, but the appropriate value depends on the operating system, Java architecture, and other applications running on the computer.

⚠️ OptiFine HD U M5 Is Not Included

This modpack does not include OptiFine HD U M5 due to licensing restrictions.

OptiFine should be obtained separately from its official distribution source.

  1. Download OptiFine HD U M5 for Minecraft 1.8.9.
  2. Obtain the .jar file.
  3. Place it in the mods folder of this modpack.
  4. Launch the game.

The pack can launch without OptiFine, but OptiFine is recommended for the intended configuration and testing environment.

📖 Installation

  1. Import the pack into HMCL, MultiMC, or another launcher that supports .mrpack.
  2. Use Java 8.
  3. Allocate 768 MB or more of memory.
  4. Avoid opening the Resource Packs menu or changing resource packs during gameplay.
  5. For very low-end systems, a render distance of approximately 2–4 chunks is recommended.
  6. An FPS limit around 40–60 FPS may help reduce unnecessary GPU load on low-end hardware.

⚠️ Important Notes

Resource packs

Avoid switching resource packs while the game is running.

Changing resource packs causes Minecraft to reload textures and other graphical resources. On the author's test hardware, repeated texture reloads were associated with OpenGL errors and graphics-driver instability.

EvergreenHUD and Chatting

EvergreenHUD and Chatting may have a configuration-menu conflict when both are enabled. Chatting is therefore disabled by default.

Multiplayer-focused configuration

This pack was primarily designed and tested for multiplayer PvP, rather than large single-player worlds.

Single-player worlds can involve additional terrain generation and simulation workload, so performance may differ from the intended multiplayer use case.

Long sessions

If performance degrades after an extended play session, restarting Minecraft may help release resources accumulated during the session.

Optional mods

The optional .disabled mods are not part of the default configuration. Enabling them may change memory usage, performance, or compatibility.

PerspectiveModRedux

PerspectiveModRedux is not included in this pack. Players should check the current rules of the server they intend to use before installing third-party mods.

❓ FAQ

Q: Why are skin downloads disabled?
A: The setting reduces background skin-download activity. On the author's low-memory test system, this was intended to reduce resource and thread usage.

Q: Can I switch resource packs in-game?
A: It is strongly discouraged, particularly on older integrated graphics. Resource-pack changes trigger a texture reload and may cause OpenGL or driver-related problems on some systems.

Q: Will this work on other servers?
A: The pack uses Minecraft 1.8.9 Forge and is not technically limited to Hypixel. However, testing and optimization were primarily performed on Hypixel Bed Wars, so results may differ on other servers.

Q: Why are some mods disabled?
A: They may provide useful features, but were not included in the default configuration because additional mods can increase resource usage or introduce compatibility issues on very low-end hardware.

Q: Does this guarantee that Minecraft will run smoothly?
A: No. The pack is based on a specific low-end test environment. Hardware, drivers, Java architecture, resource packs, server conditions, and other software can significantly affect the result.
