This modpack is similar to Direwolf20 modpack but focuses more on tech and magic mods rather than aesthetic/exploring/dungeon type mods.
Although, there are mods for all categories.
There are many ways to start out the game and progress. Even just one mod is impressive when you experince it and there are alot of mods in this modpack so, give it a try.
