Description
Origination is a modpack for 1.15.2 that seeks to enhance the vanilla experience while keeping the joy of exploration and discovery intact.
More items, biomes, weapons, animals, magic, potions, furniture, decor, tech, dungeons, structures, and more! All while trying not to stray TOO far from the SPIRIT of Vanilla!!
I created this modpack for my wife and I to play modded 1.15.2 and was very pleased with the results so I decided to compile them all together and share the modpack.
It adds a LOT of content to the vanilla game, all chosen to improve the vanilla experience without adding anything too game-breaking. and to make the world itself more immersive and interesting without it getting bloated or overcrowded ( like some of my other packs xD ).
The main focus of this modpack was QoL improvements and making a vanilla-friendly experience that has a much higher ceiling and a wider mid-game, with a focus on exploration, building and crafting.
Magic and Tech are sprinkled in if people want to explore them. Tons of items were added so you can have the gear, house, furniture, and adventure you want!
I intentionally kept the vanilla advancements, toasts, vanilla recipe book, and turned off auto-recipe unlocking in the config file for Quark so that a new player like my wife could still experience the wonder of the fresh new world joy Minecraft, but with QoL for busy adults like ourselves such as HWYLA, JourneyMaps, etc, and some stuff for me to mess around with that goes beyond Vanilla, :)
(I chose not to include Immersive Portals to make the mod more computer friendly and to use the load screens to give the instance a chance to reload any failed blocks.)
I realize there may be some overlap in these mods (for example with the backpacks) but if one has the JEI overlay minimized it won't hurt anything and simply offers more variety. Some of the mods recipes can be overwhelming if looked at in JEI so I recommend turning it off, however :) But overall I don't think it is too distracting. Personally I love what Terraforged does to the game, but IMO it makes the biomes a little large and makes progression through vanilla very slow for brand new players so I left it off. Combine Terraforge with this modpack to get some truly awesome worlds!!
If the flies get annoying with their health bars, go to the Project Vibrant Journeys config file and CTRL+F for flies and take them out! That's what I did x)
I did not create any of these mods. Major props to New Beginnings and Valhelsia mods, I drew much inspiration from these! I highly suggest you check these out for yourself!
I would greatly appreciate any feedback. If anything is "too powerful for vanilla / game-ruining" or if anyone knows of any mods that don't work well together, please let me know. This is my first modpack ever! I would recommend at least 3GB of RAM allocated, and not to use an integrated graphics card to play this mod. The initial boot time of the game is long, but it is worth it!
NEW PLAYER SUGGESTION - When you press E to open your inventory a huge amount of items will appear on your right. In order to maintain the immersive feel of the game, please press CTRL+O to hide the JEI (JustEnoughItems) overlay. This will allow you to use the recipe book in your inventory like the game meant!
Please feel free to enjoy or modify this modpack to anything you like! Sharing is caring!
