About

Description

This is a mod pack for the Nimrod server. This is intended to be vanilla + with the game-changing mods being Origins and its counterpart, Classes. Other mods included are quality-of-life mods and those that enhance game performance.

Origins is a mod where you select your "origin" when you first log into a world. Each one adds certain buffs and debuffs depending on which one you choose. For instance, the enderian can teleport without ender pearls and can reach further, but take damage from rain and water and is afraid of pumpkins. Automatons, on the other hand, can blind enemies with a flash bang, shoot a laser from their head, and have no appetite; however, they have no passive regeneration, can't sleep, sink in water, and have to eat iron nuggets, raw iron, or iron ingots to heal. The difficulty of each origin is displayed in the upper right-hand corner of the selection screen via three dots. Origins with three red dots are legitimately the hardest to play; select these classes if you're an experienced player who wants a challenge. Origins with one green dot are the easiest to play; choose these classes if you want a fun, new way to play Minecraft. two yellow dots are medium difficulty, not the hardest but still offer new gameplay challenges.

If you find you don't like the origin you chose, there is an orb of origins that will allow you to change it. This is a single-use item, however, and is only obtainable through creative mode or cheats.

For instance, the lumberjack can cut down a whole tree at once when using an axe and gain more wood from crafting, whereas the cleric can double the duration of potions using a cauldron and get better enchants. These classes can also be changed with the orb of origin.
