Description

Paʻakikī (hawaiian: hard, difficult) is a collection of modifications for a hardcore, semi-realistic Minecraft experience with focus on survival.

Background of the Project

This modpack is the result of the intention to add some variety to the common Minecraft experience. The problem was that we were always far too fast in the end-game and had to start a new adventure after a short time. Various modpacks simply could not do justice to our team work.

Key-Fatures of the Pack

The player has to spend more time on modernization and industrialization as resources are scarcer and recipes more complicated. But not only is progress being made more difficult, but survival itself is also much harder. At the beginning of his adventure, the player is still weak and starts with a reduced health, which he can gain over time through fights and experience. In addition, the player must not only keep an eye on his or her hunger and saturation during the adventure, but also on his or her thirst. As if that was not enough, the mobs are smarter and stronger. Some of them also have special skills or equipment.

For variety, RPG provides similar elements like interacting with villagers, which are more different from each other and more realistic in this modpack. In this way they cannot only produce descendants, but they also form a real community in their village. In addition to all this, the general atmosphere is enhanced by seasons, random weather events and realistic sounds.

Performance Tweaks

To boost your client performance, we recommend these JVM flags as explained by voxcpw:

-Xmx8G -Xms8G -XX:+UseG1GC -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M -XX:+UseLargePagesInMetaspace

As recommended by "Aikar", we suggest the following JVM flags for maximum performance on a server:

-Xms8G -Xmx8G -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=100 -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:G1NewSizePercent=50 -XX:G1MaxNewSizePercent=80 -XX:InitiatingHeapOccupancyPercent=10 -XX:G1MixedGCLiveThresholdPercent=50 -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -Dusing.aikars.flags=mcflags.emc.gs
